MrBeast has responded to criticism from fellow YouTubers who accused some content creators, including him, of launching unnecessary businesses to exploit their fans. For those unaware, Jimmy Donaldson (better known as MrBeast) recently launched Lunchly, a competitor to Lunchables, in collaboration with Logan Paul and KSI’s PRIME.

The launch has drawn negative reactions from YouTubers like DanTDM, who argued that content creators are "selling stuff for the sake of making money" and questioned the necessity of such products. Other personalities, like JoJoJosiah, iBallisticSquid, and Plainrock124, have also commented on the product’s health claims.

In defense of Lunchly, MrBeast compared its health benefits to those of Lunchables in a post on X. He asserted that some of his products are superior in terms of calories and sugar content, writing:

"Lunchables sells hundreds of millions of units and countless people eat it. Our goal is to give people a better for you alternative to it. Our turkey meal for example is 80 less calories, 60% less sugar, more electrolytes, we use real cheese they use “cheese product” (they can’t call it cheese), higher quality meat, etc."

MrBeast says launching Lunchly is a "net good" as it provides a healthier alternative to Lunchables in pre-packaged market

Since KSI, Logan Paul, and MrBeast announced Lunchly on September 16, 2024, many people have been comparing it to Lunchables, a long-standing brand of pre-packaged meals for children. Given the similarities between the two products, such comparisons are inevitable.

As mentioned, numerous YouTubers and content creators have criticized Lunchly. On September 17, 2024, X user @DramaAlert shared a compilation of these posts.

In response, MrBeast defended Lunchly, arguing that it is a better alternative to Lunchables, the current industry leader in the market.

MrBeast highlighted that Lunchly’s turkey meal has fewer calories and includes real cheese. He also addressed the broader criticism claiming that content creators are launching businesses that do not benefit the community and are merely cash grabs.

While acknowledging that pre-packaged meals are not as healthy as home-cooked ones, the YouTuber asserted that Lunchly is still a better option compared to other products of the same kind.

"Obviously eating fresh chicken and broccoli is healthier but if someone is going to eat a premade meal like this (which millions of people do thru lunchables) then I think giving them a higher quality version at roughly the same price is a net good imo and why we launched Lunchly. Also as we get economies of scale and can get things cheaper we will be only improving the product more and more."

MrBeast is not the only person to come to Lunchly's defense. Logan Paul has also responded to DanTDM's comments about YouTuber businesses, garnering millions of impressions on X.

That said, MrBeast has received quite a lot of backlash for his Lunchly post, considering he is currently being sued by Beast Games contestants in a class-action lawsuit.
