Another controversy has emerged in the online community, with YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" being labeled as a "war criminal." It all started on August 8, 2024, when YouTuber DogPack404 uploaded a 50-minute video, in which former MrBeast employee Jake Weddle discussed his time working for the Kansas native.
Weddle leveled some serious allegations against MrBeast and his company, including the claim that the 26-year-old allegedly hired a "known registered sex offender," insinuating that it was "covered up."
Earlier today (August 8, 2024), a one-minute-37-second video surfaced on X in which Jake Weddle claimed to have been sleep-deprived while filming a video. Several netizens shared their thoughts on the matter, with X user @kentstupmi writing:
"Mr Beast is a f**ked up individual. Not allowing the person in your challenge to sleep because you won't turn off the lights. Bro is borderline war criminal level," remarked X user @kentstupmi.
Meanwhile, Daniel "Keemstar's" Drama Alert reported:
"Former MrBeast employee claims he was kept awake for hours during filming due to lights being left on, calling it a 'war crime.'"
"24 hours of breaking the Geneva Convention" - Jake Weddle bursts into tears while talking about being sleep-deprived during the filming of a MrBeast video
At the 17-minute mark of the video I Worked For MrBeast, He's A Sociopath, Jake Weddle described a video shoot during which MrBeast's crew allegedly refused to let him turn off the lights at night:
"It got to a point where they wouldn't turn the lights off. I asked them, 'Can we have the nighttime hours?' And they said, 'No because it would f**k up the timelapse shots.' The timelapse of what? Me sleeping? Or me not sleeping? Yeah, I saw in other videos, they did, you know, the XYZ hours of sunlight. Oh, great! I wonder how they figured that one out? I didn't have it!"
Jake Weddle also claimed that he had "no access" to sunlight and a clock. According to him, lights were on "all the time." He also went on to say that he developed insomnia, speculating that this situation could be a catalyst:
"One of the things was - they take all your clocks, you didn't know what time it was. I got no access to the sun. I got no access to a clock. I don't know... the lights are on me all the time. I wasn't sleeping. I could not sleep. I have insomnia problems now. It might have started there."

In the video, one could see Weddle getting emotional and tearing up. He then described a conversation he had with a friend, who told him that the circumstances he experienced were a "war crime":
"So, I just wanted to turn the lights off. And I'm vocalizing to people, 'I wish the lights would turn off.' And I go up to my friend, my good friend. I go, 'They're not turning the lights off.' He goes, 'What?! That's a war crime! We're not allowed to do that to terrorists.' Oh, good! 24 hours of breaking the Geneva Convention, I guess."
Jake Weddle also claimed he was administered with melatonin, which did not help. He added that MrBeast checked in on him "every other day for an hour":
"They were giving me melatonin. You know, it's not helping. And Jimmy would come in every other day for, like, an hour. You know, to check in on me because he's doing other stuff. You know, I'm just a guy in the cage over here, he'll come back to me in a minute."
The Kansas native has been mired in controversy in recent times. Earlier today (August 8, 2024), an alleged internal company email from MrBeast leaked on social media. In it, he seemingly provided details about a "full investigation" into the Ava Kris Tyson allegations.
