Instagram stories from MrBeast's ex-girlfriend Maddy Spidell are going viral all over social media where she cryptically claimed to have watched people being mistreated "silently" over the years. Spidell also noted that she had to undergo a lot of therapy to deal with dating "someone famous" and how it affected her public life.
Given that MrBeast is already in hot water due to the numerous allegations from former employees about his content on top of the Ava Kris Tyson controversy, many on the internet have speculated that Maddy Spidell is talking about her relationship with the YouTuber when she wrote the post.
On August 8, she first posted a small story on Instagram tagging YouTube and said:
"@youtube you need to reevaluate who you're putting on the trending page"
In a longer post uploaded an hour later, she details dealing with the trauma of dating someone famous. Considering her well-known relationship with MrBeast, which reportedly lasted from 2019 to 2022, netizens have speculated that Maddy Spidell's recent posts are about the YouTuber.
Disclaimer: Readers should note that Spidell does not explicitly mention MrBeast in any of her stories.
What did MrBeast's former girlfriend post on Instagram that many seem to think is about the YouTuber?
As per the MrBeast wiki, Maddy Spidell and the YouTuber dated between 2019-2022. The two reportedly met online. Despite keeping most of their relationship private, she made an appearance on his YouTube video from 2020 titled Surprising My Girlfriend With 100,000 Roses For Valentine's Day, which has since been de-listed from his account. However, a post from the YouTuber with a picture of the couple does remain on X.
Now, many believe Maddy Spidell is divulging the details of her relationship with MrBeast. Notably, she did not name the famous YouTuber in her Instagram posts and claimed that she did not want any drama:
"I don't want drama, I don't want anything. I just want to speak up for my 19 year old self."
After talking about how formative the years between 19 and 21 are, Maddy Spidell went on to claim that she was not okay during her relationship with a supposed famous person when she was at that age. Given she was reportedly 19 at the time she started dating MrBeast, many, including @DramaAlert, speculate she could be alluding to her relationship with the YouTuber:
"19-21 are formative years and as a young woman it impacted the way I saw myself, the way I interpreted my future and how I trusted men. There was no user manual, there was no instruction on how to deal with gaining a following quickly, no cheat sheet on dating someone famous. I did the best I could, but I was not okay."
MrBeast's former girlfriend would go on to reveal she had to undergo therapy and that her story should be considered a cautionary tale:
"Months of therapy, so many journal entries, long talks with my mom, why do I still feel like it was all for nothing? I believe I should be used as a cautionary tale. If something is too good to be true, it probably is. How he treats other women will ultimately be how he treats you."
Maddy Spidell concluded her post by stating that she had no intention of taking anyone down:
"I do not aim to take anyone down, just simply and explicitly tell you that there are scary people out there. People will hurt you, use you, spit you out and then tell you it's your fault."
She also posted a subsequent statement on X addressing criticism of her "vague" post and claimed that she did not need to identify the person or people in question. Maddy Spidell has since deleted the post and MrBeast has yet to comment on the whole situation.
