YouTube megastar Jimmy "MrBeast" showed off an obstacle course reminiscent of the Wipeout series in a segment of his latest video titled "World’s Deadliest Obstacle Course!". The video was uploaded to the MrBeast YouTube channel on June 15, 2024, and racked up over 11 million views within four hours of being uploaded. The only participant in this challenge was Mack Hopkins, who is a recurrent contestant in MrBeast's videos.
Mack faced six courses in total, but one that stood out in particular was "Level 4". This specific obstacle course was also featured in IShowSpeed's $100,000 Wipeout livestream on June 5, 2024.
In this stream, the YouTuber went against fellow creator Olajide "KSI" to try and reach the end platform first, with the winner being the recipient of $100,000. A clip of this stream was featured within the video, with Jimmy commenting on the infamous "Red Balls" of the obstacle course. He stated:
"These balls are so much harder than the rest of this level, that we brought out some other creators to test them out. And let's just say, they didn't do so hot."
Mack Hopkins wins $800,000 after completing six obstacle courses in MrBeast's latest YouTube video
Mack Hopkins' previous appearances in MrBeast' videos have seen him unable to win the challenges, walking away with either a portion of the actual winnings or nothing at all. His closest shaves with victory were in the "Face Your Biggest Fear To Win $800,000" and "World's Most Dangerous Trap!", in which he had to break Dalgona cookies — similar to those seen in Squid Game — as the last challenge in the videos.
In both videos, he was unable to break the cookies into the required shapes and hence failed to win the prize money. Mack faced the cookies yet again in MrBeast's latest video, albeit in a different form.
For the final challenge of this video, Mack had to use a trapeze bar to jump from one circular platform to another, which was in the shape of the broken cookies from his previously failed challenges. There were four such platforms in total.
Despite the last jump being twice as long as the previous ones, Mack managed to swing himself just right on the trapeze bar and cleared the obstacle, landing on the final platform and securing himself a grand prize of $800,000. At the end of the video, he could be seen happily celebrating his achievement with his family.
Tensions seemingly rose high at a recent shoot for MrBeast's video involving multiple YouTubers as fellow creators Ludwig and KSI have come out with statements about each other's behavior during the shoot. While KSI called Ludwig "annoying," the latter claimed that KSI was "stressing him out".
