"My retina and my optical nerve that's really damaged" - YourRAGE opens up about his eye injury following recent incident

Popular Twitch and Kick streamer Josh "YourRAGE" has opened up about his eye injury. For context, on July 3, 2024, the content creator suffered an unfortunate accident when an axe struck his face during an IRL stream. He immediately instructed his cameraman to take him to the hospital, claiming he couldn't see out of his eye.

Four days later, on July 7, 2024, YourRAGE uploaded a 14-minute video to his official YouTube channel titled, I can't see. At the six-minute mark, the FaZe Clan member described what an ophthalmologist told him about his injury, stating that the eye specialist determined that the accident had damaged his retina and optical nerves:

"We go over to the ophthalmologist. Long story short - they juice up my eye, they liquify my eye, putting all types of squirting, all type of s**t, all up in my eye. Like, 10 different drops in my eye. Looking through the eye with the machine; basically said... a lot of inflammation in my cornea. But it's like - my retina and my optical nerve, something, that's really damaged. Right? And, that's going to need a lot of time to heal. It's bad."

According to YourRAGE, the ophthalmologist said that he got "lucky":

"But he said I am so goddamn lucky that this isn't 100% just GGs to your eyeball. He said I better pray to god, I am lucky as hell."

YourRAGE explains what the doctors prescribed after he injured his eye following a wood-chopping accident

At the seven-minute mark of the YouTube video mentioned above, YourRAGE explained what kind of medications the doctor prescribed for his eye following the wood-chopping accident. Describing them as "crazy eye drops," the streamer said:

"Yeah, so he prescribed me with some crazy, crazy eye drops. It's like five different bottles, each of them do different things. It's a treatment that I've got to do, like, each bottle, like, three times a day. One of them was six times the first day, and then four times every day following that."

The content creator went on to say that if he didn't keep taking the medications, he would be "cooked":

"I've got to keep up with my treatment or it's either going to take longer, or I'm cooked. So I ain't missing a single hour, I'm taking my s**t very diligently. I got a check-up in another week."

YourRAGE also spoke about the ophthalmologist's "hypothesis" regarding the injury:

"His hypothesis, what they're saying is, as the bruising and the swelling, all the inflammation, as that goes down, and as my eye heals, my vision should slowly come back day by day."
