100 Thieves CEO Matthew Haag, aka Nadeshot, has posted on X in response to getting beaten by FaZe Banks (real name Richard Bengston) in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 1v1 sniper battle at the Founding Fathers LAN event. The tournament's last match was the much-anticipated showdown between the two CEOs (Banks took over FaZe Clan a few months ago).
A lot of online banter had preceded the match, with much of the Call of Duty community picking out their favorite. However, the encounter was anything but close, with FaZe Banks winning with 20 kills to his opponent's five.
Nadeshot addressed the defeat with a message on X tagging FaZe Banks. The 100 Thieves CEO wrote:
"GG’s @Banks. Shit got real, real quick. See you in chat tomorrow, gentlemen. There will be ungodly amounts of cry baby cheese and honestly can’t wait to yap with you boys on stream. Gonna go enjoy the launch of our collab with @adidas tonight and then get back to work tomorrow."
FaZe Banks posts short video celebrating winning Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 1v1 against Nadeshot
With both CEOs being veterans in the Call of Duty community and having amassed millions of fans over decades of playing the game professionally, there was naturally a lot of hype around their match at the Founding Fathers LAN event.
Organized by WePlay Studios, the event featured numerous figures from the gaming world, including players and content creators from OpTic Gaming, 100 Thieves, and FaZe Clan. Several OGs were also present, including Scump, who was co-streaming the tournament with FaZe ZooMaa and Nadeshot.
As mentioned, there was a lot of banter between the two CEOs before the match. After beating his opponent, FaZe Banks posted a short video on his official X account. The two-minute-long video was a montage of all of the esports professionals and Twitch streamers who had doubted he would win, with the last 40 seconds being clips from the match where he dominated.
Considering Nadeshot is a former Call of Duty professional known for his illustrious stint with OpTic, where he won two MLG Pro titles and the 2011 Call of Duty XP, he was the favorite. Naturally, many former pros and Twitch streamers predicted that he would win. However, FaZe Banks proved all of them wrong with his performance.
