2K is reportedly taking out controversial YouTube star Guy Beahm, aka Dr DisRespect, from its video game series, NBA 2K24, in an upcoming update. This information comes a day after the streamer addressed the controversy surrounding his Twitch ban from 2020 in a post on X, where he confirmed that he had sent inappropriate texts to a minor.

Many other brands have been distancing themselves from Dr DisRespect since allegations about him allegedly s*xting a minor in 2017 surfaced. A former Twitch employee made the claims, stating that the content creator was banned from the Amazon-owned platform for texting an underage individual.

According to Dexerto, representatives of 2K have stated that the internet personality's likeness and character will be removed from the game in a future patch during the course of Season 9. As of the release of Season 9, the Doc is still present in the game.

Many entities and personalities have cut ties with Dr DisRespect in the aftermath of Twitch controversy

Dr DisRespect is a veteran streamer known for playing FPS titles and sports games like the NBA 2K series. Known for being exceptionally tall and athletic, he played professional basketball in the NCAA Division II in his college days.

In NBA 2K23, the Doc even had his very own quest line that players could complete, with a character fully modeled on his on-screen personality. He was also associated with his favorite NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers, but they have since cut ties with the streamer.

While Dr DisRespect has maintained that no legal wrongdoing had been done, his long post addressing the issue on X has caused many people to cut ties with him.

In the post, the YouTuber essentially confirmed that he sent inappropriate messages to a minor through Twitch Whisper and described the texts as follows:

"These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more."

Even his long-time friends, such as Nickmercs and TimTheTatman, who regularly streamed games with him in the past, outright noted that his admission was something that they could not look past.

2K is not the only gaming company to distance itself from the streamer. Midnight Society, which was co-founded by the content creator and three other esports veterans back in 2021, has terminated its relationship with the contentious figure in a post on X.
