Nickmercs calls Dr DisRespect a "re*ard" for claiming he pretended to text a minor as bait for journalists

Nickmercs did not express much sympathy for Dr DisRespect after the YouTube star denied various allegations related to his Twitch ban during a comeback stream on September 6, 2024. In a post on X, the streamer slammed Dr DisRespect and hit back at people criticizing him for not supporting the internet personality.

One of the most controversial claims made by Dr DisRespect during his broadcast was that he purposefully admitted to inappropriately texting a minor in an X post (now-deleted) on June 2024 to bait journalists. He added that the individual involved was of the legal age of consent.

Dr DisRespect's initial admission led to a rift between him and many of his fellow streamers, including Nickmercs and TimTheTatman, both of whom publicly denounced his actions.

After Dr DisRespect claimed he intentionally highlighted the underage aspect, Nickmercs called him out, reaffirming that he was justified in severing ties with the content creator at the time of the controversy.

"This retard Dr Disrespect is married with children, pushin’ 40. Admits to texting a minor inappropriately. His words, not mine. So I cut ties, because obviously that’s inexcusable."

Nickmercs had come down heavily on Dr DisRespect after he admitted to sending messages to a minor in June 2024. He even called out his audience for trying to defend the YouTube star.

In a livestream at the time, the streamer had told off the chat, saying:

"'We still don't know if he knew she was underage.' Yes, we do! Yes, we do, he admitted that in his tweet. Yeah, people are still trying to defend what he did."

However, during his comeback stream on September 6, 2024, Dr DisRespect claimed that he had not been truthful in his statement, claiming that he purposefully made the admission to draw the attention of journalists.

He said:

"You also said the word minor, Cody[Former Twitch employee]. I even made sure that word was emphasized in my statement, edited, etc. Just to make sure these so-called journalists would pick up on it. And oh boy oh boy did they ever, Champs."

Clips from the broadcast have gone viral on social media, with fans and fellow streamers debating the matter.

Nickmercs, who had derided Dr DisRespect for texting a minor before, was understandably upset. After cussing out the YouTuber, he slammed those who claimed he should have had his friend's back even if he had publicly admitted to sending inappropriate texts to a minor:

"Now I’m a sh*t friend for not having his back??? Buncha brain-rot morons on this app."

Twitch streamer Nadia Amine also reacted to Nickmercs' post, saying he was right to cut ties with Dr DisRespect:

"Nick didn’t “fold”, yall are just fu**ing dumb. doc admitted to talking to a minor, and nick cut ties like anyone with a brain would. take your delusions somewhere else."

In related news, Dr DisRespect accused Twitch of targeting him with a permanent ban and shared a list of content creators who have allegedly gone unpunished despite committing horrendous acts on the platform.
