Controversial streamer Nick "Nickmercs" has officially made a return to Twitch about a year after he signed a multi-million dollar deal with rival platform Kick. At the time, he was banned from the Amazon-owned platform due to his controversial comments about the trans community.

On November 7, 2024, Nickmercs announced that his deal with Kick was over and praised the platform for showing him a lot of love and support over the year. However, it seems the Apex Legends and Call of Duty streamer will primarily be using Twitch in the days to come. He wrote on X:

"Lads, my Kick deal is up. They showed mad love over the last 2 years & for that, I’m super grateful. Wishing them nothing but continued success. Moving forward, we will be primarily on Twitch."

Nickmercs believes streaming on Twitch is "best for the community" after his Kick deal expired

The rivalry between Kick and Twitch started almost immediately after the Stake-backed platform was launched in 2022. Since then, several content creators have moved between the platforms.

In October 2023, Nickmercs announced that he was beginning a new chapter by joining Kick. As mentioned, he had received a lot of backlash online at the time due to his comments about the trans community and was temporarily banned from Twitch.

Readers should note that the streamer made more controversial remarks about the trans community when he returned and once again got suspended from Twitch earlier this year.

Regardless, the content creator now thinks primarily streaming on Twitch is best for his community. In the post announcing the expiry of his Kick deal, he wrote:

"Though no platform is perfect, I believe this is best for the community."

Nickmercs has made his comeback to Twitch with an Apex Legends Christmas stream and BLGS practice scrims. It is unclear whether he will take the multi-streaming route and broadcast on different platforms in the future. However, for now, it seems he is focusing on Twitch streaming.
