Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold" was hit with a temporary suspension on the platform after he made some controversial statements about the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Since then, the streamer came out with an apology and took full accountability for his actions, apologizing for using Palestinians interchangeably with religious fanatics.
Asmon's apology on YouTube currently stands at over 170,000 likes, and the streamer has received support for taking responsibility and pointing out how "mean-spirited" his behavior has become over the years. That said, it would seem the support from his fanbase has become slightly overwhelming for some, especially One True King's (OTK) Nick "Nmplol".
Both Nmplol and Asmongold are members of OTK, which is a collective of streamers including other big names like Mizkif and Sodapoppin. In a livestream dated October 18, 2024, Nick pointed out that people defending Asmon are starting to become a problem for the group.
It should be noted that after the suspension, Asmongold resolved to distance himself from his streaming and business ventures, including his leadership position at OTK. In the livestream, Nmplol claimed that "Asmon defenders" were under the wrong impression, and were pointlessly defending their favorite streamer without much understanding of what was actually going on:
"These Asmon defenders - y'all are so f**king cringe. You don't have to harass everything OTK related for him."
What have Asmongold's supporters been saying about OTK?
OTK has been under fire from Asmongold fans since the streamer announced he was stepping down from the organization. Many referred to the collective as "traitors" or "cowards" claiming that OTK has succumbed to cancel culture, leading to Asmon's decision to step down.
Nmplol clarified this and condemned the people standing behind Asmon in the comments, stating that nobody knows the situation better than the streamer's "friends" i.e, OTK:
"You guys look like f**king losers, stop it. [Asmon does not] know you, lil bro. He's our friend, we talk to him daily, we know him more than you do. Grow up, go focus on yourselves, get a job, go to the gym, it is pathetic. Like after every single OTK tweet, getting harassed, it's insane, stop."
Nick claimed that these defenders were making Asmon's community look "horrible" and suggested they find something better to do with their time, instead of spreading hate.
In other news, Nmplol criticized fans as being "super dishonest" for claiming that OTK is "nothing without" Asmongold.
