Twitch and Kick streamer Nick "Nickmercs" has announced his departure from FaZe Clan in a post on X dated January 10, 2025. The popular content creator was part of the esports organization for almost five years — he joined FaZe Clan in 2019 after leaving 100 Thieves.
Known for streaming shooter games, Nickmercs is particularly popular for playing games such as Call of Duty, Warzone, Apex Legends, and Fortnite on his broadcasts. He returned to Twitch in November 2024, almost a year after signing a deal with Kick after his controversial ban from the Amazon-owned platform.
On January 10, 2025, he posted on X about his plans for this year and explained that he would return from the holiday break on Tuesday, January 14. In the same post, he announced parting ways with FaZe Clan, writing that while he has no issues with the organization, he would "move forward."
Nick also named some of the FaZe Clan members such as Banks, Apex, and others in his post and expressed his gratitude to the group for the memories:
"I wanna let y’all know that we are no longer with FaZe Clan. No issues with them whatsoever, it’s just that time to move forward. Y’all know I gotta lot of love for Banks, Tommy, Rug, Apex etc & wish them & the boys all the best. Beyond grateful for the memories & achievements we had together."
Nickmercs teases "huge announcement" in a post about leaving FaZe Clan and his plans for 2025
With over 6.5 million followers on Twitch, the former esports professional Nickmercs is a fairly popular content creator. He had been at FaZe Clan since May 2019 and seemingly survived the mass layoffs at the organization last year after FaZe Banks took over as CEO.
In the same post where he announced his departure from FaZe Clan, Nickmercs teased a big announcement that is slated to drop on January 13, 2025:
"First of all, we got a HUGE announcement lined up for Monday! It’s something we’ve been working on for some time now. Can’t wait to share."
Nickmercs also explained his competitive Apex Legends situation and how he would be grinding the game in the upcoming months to become the Pro League's first 34-year-old pro:
"As for Competitive Apex, we’ll be back on the grind in a major way over the next few months. First ever 34 year old father in Pro League — yous can lock that in, because it’s happening. The squad & I have big plans and there will be a ton of scrims, tournaments & ranked leading up."
Nickmercs will also be playing other games on stream as well and asked his followers for suggestions:
"Apex aside, we will be looking to get into some new games & maybe revisit some old gems whenever there’s opportunity/downtime. What would y’all like to see me play this year?"
Fans will have to wait till next to find out what big announcement the streamer has in store for them.
