Popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" has responded to speculations that he has retired from livestreaming. In a video uploaded to his official YouTube channel, the Florida native addressed his recent break from content creation.
While acknowledging that he hadn't been streaming as much in 2024, MoistCr1TiKaL clarified that he hasn't retired from livestreaming. However, the 30-year-old disclosed that he would not be "streaming nearly as often" as he used to:
"Now, I haven't gone live, in like, three-ish weeks or so. And I haven't really talked about it or anything, so it's led to people just wondering if I'm hanging up the jersey. Even Michael Jordan announced his retirement. Not that I'm comparing myself to Michael Jordan. I'm more like Brian Scalabrine of streaming. But even still, I didn't say anything about stopping it because I am not stopping it."
MoistCr1TiKaL went on to say that the "accurate nomenclature" for him would be "part-time streamer":
"I'm just not going to be streaming nearly as often. I know it's become a bit of a meme term, but I do think a part-time streamer is an accurate nomenclature for what I am. I am no longer a whole hog, hang your n*ts, full-time streamer."

MoistCr1TiKaL says he would become the "George RR Martin of streaming" while responding to speculations about his retirement
After announcing that he had no plans to stop livestreaming but would not be "streaming nearly as often," MoistCr1TiKaL jokingly stated that he would become the "George RR Martin of streaming."
He elaborated:
"I'm not going to be streaming daily anymore. Or even every other day. Or s**t, maybe not even weekly. I'll be the George RR Martin of streaming, where I'll take these long hiatuses and come back when I think it's going to be a banger stream."
The content creator then provided details about his upcoming broadcast, during which he would be watching his professional esports team compete in a major tournament in Germany:
"This weekend, I plan on streaming because our esports team is competing in a major tournament in Germany to try and take home a championship trophy. So, I'm going to be there, pumping my fist, putting my fingers in my mouth trying to whistle, and sounding all pathetic and s**t, trying to cheer them on on a watch partying this tournament to support the squad."
This is not the first time that rumors about MoistCr1TiKaL's retirement have surfaced online. On July 31, 2024, a Patreon post went viral, suggesting that the Twitch streamer intended to take an "indefinite hiatus."
