Guy Beahm, better known as Dr DisRespect, has posted a statement on his official X account, addressing the viral accusations of sexual misconduct. The popular streamer has been under a lot of pressure from the community after an ex-Twitch employee claimed he was banned for sending inappropriate and explicit messages to a minor.

Guy had refused to talk about the case further than denying wrongdoing since former Twitch staffer Cody Connors made those accusations, but after recent news reports all but confirmed the allegations, the YouTube streamer finally gave a detailed statement on June 25 about the circumstances that led to him getting banned from Twitch back in 2020.

Dr DisRespect confirmed that he had engaged in messaging "an individual" in 2017 that he claimed "leaned" towards being unintentionally inappropriate:

"Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely not. These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more."

The streamer vehemently denied that he had done something criminal, claiming that the whole case was a civil dispute and that he had not exchanged pictures or met the individual in person:

"Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual. I went through a lengthy arbitration regarding a civil dispute with twitch and that case was resolved by a settlement."

Dr DisRespect was also adamant that no criminal charges were brought against him:

"Let me be clear, it was not a criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been brought against me."

"This was stupid": Dr DisRespect says he takes responsibility but denies being labeled a pedophile

Apart from denying any allegations of wrongdoing, Dr DisRespect was also adamant that he was not a pedophile or other type of criminal. The 42-year-old content creator owned up to making a mistake, and stated that the conversations with the minor should not have taken place:

"Now, from a moral standpoint I'll absolutely take responsibility. I should have never entertained these conversations to begin with. That's on me. That's on me as an adult, a husband and a father. It should have never happened. I get it. I’m not perfect and I’ll f*cking own my sh*t. This was stupid."

Dr DisRespect went on to lambast people calling him a "pedo" and stated that detractors on social media were exaggerating:

"Social media is a destruction zone. I'm no f*cking predator or pedophile. Are you kidding me? Anyone that truely knows me fucking knows where I stand on those things with those types of people. F*ck that. That's a different level of disgust that I f*cking hate even hearing about. Don't be labeling me as the worst of the worst with your exaggerations."

As it stands, it appears that Dr DisRespect is not going anywhere despite his recent musings about retirement and stepping away from the gaming scene.
