YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" is known for his athleticism. His streaming antics include jumping over cars, running around, and overall displaying an energetic persona. His most iconic trait, recognized widely by his community, is the backflip. On occasions, such as milestones, the streamer performs his flips to celebrate. Recently, he challenged himself to do over 1,000 backflips in 24 hours.

On an October 8 live stream, Speed undertook the grueling challenge. Initially, the streamer was well on track to break the record, but soon, fatigue got to him. After completing 660 backflips, he eventually called it quits. Speed tried virtually everything he could to recover, including sleeping and massages, but to no avail. Ultimately, he expressed disappointment in himself and apologized to his viewers.

Towards the end of the challenge, Speed announced that he would be back stronger and more prepared than ever for a second attempt:

"But don't think this is the last time I'll be attempting this though... maybe in the next two months, I'll be attempting this again."

IShowSpeed's world record attempt went viral, even gaining the attention of Frederick “Flips” Richard, an American gymnast and Olympic Bronze Medalist. Fred took to social media and shared a few tips for Speed while mentioning how he would go about the challenge personally.

"Speed if you need a trainer, I got you": Fred Richard offers to help IShowSpeed break the world record for the most backflips in 24 hours

IShowSpeed's main issue during his first attempt was exhaustion. Although his form and landing were decent, Speed's power depleted with time. In an Instagram post, Fred Richard strategized how he would personally attempt the challenge:

"So I do ten, which means I only have to do ten, a hundred times throughout 24 hours, let's say 20 hours."

The gymnast then proceeded to demonstrate 10 perfect backflips in quick succession, making it look easy. He then took a 10-minute break, which appeared to be part of his strategy. After the break, he updated viewers on his physical state:

"It's been ten minutes, I really don't even feel like I flipped ten minutes ago. I bet by hour ten my body would feel the effect. It would be doable, but not worth it... I got to focus on 2028, but Speed, if you need a trainer, I got you."

Fred said that his primary focus as an athlete is the 2028 Olympics, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, and he doesn't want to risk injury attempting such a challenge. Regardless, he is still willing to provide IShowSpeed with some much-needed guidance.

In other news, IShowSpeed couldn't contain his laughter after convincing KSI to perform the song "Thick Of It" during a live stream.
