The Ontario Labor Ministry is reportedly investigating Jimmy "MrBeast's" Amazon Prime series — Beast Games. On December 30, 2024, freelance reporter Steven Asarch shared a CP24 report claiming that the 26-year-old YouTuber's game show was under scrutiny due to an alleged injury sustained while filming in Toronto.
According to CP24, an individual working on the set of Beast Games was "injured by falling wood" on September 11, 2024. An excerpt from the report reads:
"The ministry says a worker was injured by falling wood on Sept. 11 on the set, a miniature village constructed for the show on the grounds of the former Downsview Airport. The labour ministry did not share the extent of the person's injuries, citing the ongoing investigation, but it says the employers - Blink 49 Studios and Manhattan Beach Studios - were each issued a 'requirement.' A ministry spokesperson did not say what that was."

In a tweet, Steven Asarch claimed that the alleged situation was similar to the circumstances he reported in the Rolling Stone article in September 2024:
"The Ontario Labor Ministry is investigating an 'industrial accident' that happened on the set of the Beast Games in Toronto. According to the ministry, 'a worker was injured by falling wood on Sept. 11 on the set.' It does sound a lot like the falling tower I wrote about here and in my Rolling Stone article, but the ministry wouldn't confirm it was," wrote Steven Asarch in a series of tweets on December 30, 2024.
Here's what Asarch tweeted on September 18, 2024:
"I can now confirm that at the end of filming on Sep 11, a 6-foot by 6-foot piece of the tower at the Beast Games fell on a crew member. Emergency services were called, and they were brought to the hospital where they still remain. A MrBeast spokesperson declined to comment."
YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has also commented on the controversy surrounding Beast Games, claiming that "more information is coming" about MrBeast's show:
"The Ontario Government is now investigating one of the injuries on the set of Beast Games after a crew member was severely injured. Odd that none of his Behind the Scenes footage included this injury, or any of the other injuries. Looks like more information is coming."
What has MrBeast said in response to past allegations about Beast Games?
On December 20, 2024, behind-the-scenes footage from Beast Games was released on social media. In one of the videos, a contestant asked MrBeast if he was "okay" with the allegations against his game show.
In response, the Kansas native claimed that a "lot of things" said about Beast Games were "not true":
"Well, obviously, there were a lot of things not true. Like, they're saying that there are broken bones. They're saying we're paying people hush money. What do you think about the articles?"
As of this writing, MrBeast has not commented on the Ontario Labor Ministry's reported investigation into Beast Games' filming in Toronto.
