Popular Twitch and YouTube streamer Thomas "Sykkuno" has responded to speculations about his friendship with Jeremy "Disguised Toast." During a gaming livestream on August 31, Sykkuno's attention was drawn to a live viewer, who inquired whether his friendship with Disguised Toast had been fractured.
While reading the viewer's message out loud to his audience, the Las Vegas native joked that he was no longer friends with the Taipei native because he refused to let him join DSG, his professional esports organization.
Later, Sykkuno stated that if his fans were "invested enough" in his relationships with other streamers, they should understand that "people just drift apart." He elaborated:
"If you're invested enough to keep up with our relationships, when 99% of the time people just drift apart because, you know, they play different games. Right? There are a lot of friends that I'm still friends with, but we don't play games every day because we play different games, right? Not everyone's playing Street Fighter or Valorant. No one wants to grind Valorant every day. Well, some people do."

The 33-year-old then added that sometimes people just play different games:
"A lot of times, it's not like you're not friends. It's just... you're playing different games and that's not a bad thing."

When fans asked if he and Disguised Toast were no longer friends, Sykkuno jokingly said that the latter wouldn't let him join his esports team, DSG, to compete professionally in Riot Games' Teamfight Tactics. Claiming that he "refused to play" with the OfflineTV (OTV) member because of his decision, the Twitch streamer said:
"'Are you and Toast no friends? I don't see you play together anymore.' Well, let me tell you guys why me and Toast aren't friends anymore. You see, I applied to join DSG to join TFT (Riot Games' Teamfight Tactics). And he said, 'Sykkuno, I'll have you in DSG for TFT if you get Masters rank.' And then, I got hard-stuck in Platinum, and I said, 'Toast, if you were a real friend, you would let me join anyway.' And then... he didn't respond."
Sykkuno then continued the joke and said he now has the "French Toast":
"So I decided since he didn't respond, even though I literally can't compete if I'm not at least Masters, we aren't friends anymore and now I just refuse to play with him ever! And honestly, who needs him? We have the French Toast among us now. Also, I'm going to be playing a game with Toast next week, probably. So, that'll be fun."
Back in July 2024, Sykkuno left the online community worried after he said that he was "barely alive" because his health was "going bad."
