Twitch streamer Jason "Pirate Software" has responded to allegations of cheating in Outer Wilds. He denied the use of external aid for the game, specifically during moments when he had been looking away from his computer screen. For those unaware, political commentator and Kick streamer Steven "Destiny" alleged Jason had been looking at his phone when not staring at his computer screen.
Destiny claimed that Pirate Software was making use of his phone to solve puzzles in Outer Wilds. Now, during a broadcast, a chatter asked Pirate Software the reason why he "cheated" in Outer Wilds, to which he replied:
"'Why did you cheat in Outer Wilds'... What? How the hell would you cheat in that game? Bro, we played it all live on stream. Alright, bud? That's a wild a** thing to say, what the hell?"
"I was probably playing Monster Hunter": Pirate Software responds to allegations of cheating while solving puzzles in Outer Wilds
Pirate Software has been the center of attention online since being involved in the OnlyFangs controversy. Being accused of running away from mobs while dungeon crawling and ultimately causing the death of two in-game party members in the OnlyFangs WoW guild, he was subjected to significant backlash online, including death threats.
Now, soon after Pirate Software made his initial statement of "cheating" in Outer Wilds, he was asked a follow-up question by a chatter, to which he responded:
"'You were typing and they assumed you were googling' No? I was probably playing Monster Hunter. Like, I've been playing that sh** on phone for ages. I just keep it right here. Unless I was typing to somebody or texting to somebody, I don't freaking know. I'll have to see what the hell you're talking about, because... like, the whole point of playing that game is if you look anything up or you watch anyone else play it, it ruins it."
Apart from being accused of cheating in Outer Wilds, he has also been called out by YouTuber AlbinoLIVE for supposedly using external help to unlock the secret endings during his playthrough of Animal Well. Questioning how Pirate Software was unable to unlock an ending that required the community weeks of collective effort, he insinuated that he must have taken external aid.
