YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" was kicked out of an arena during the week-long San Fermin festivities currently taking place in Spain. The creator had visited the country as part of his Europe tour, wherein he did IRL broadcasts from countries like Albania, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Italy, among others.
The American YouTuber had arrived at the Plaza de Toros de Pamplona, a bullring known to be the end point of the famous running of bulls through the streets of Pamplona. This would have been his first stream after meeting Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Italy a day prior. However, before the creator could conduct a stream from the area, he was seemingly escorted out by the police.
Speed's cameraman Samuel "Slipz" stated that the creator and his crew were "targeted" by local police. Expressing his frustration regarding the incident in a post made to his Speed Gang community on X on July 11, 2024, he wrote:
"Police targeted him. they targeted all of our crew. You think security wasn’t trying to get in there and I wasn’t trying to get in there?? We got told no. Speed still tried. Then once he was in the police once again targeted him and almost even took his phone. Meanwhile everyone around him is filming him. And then comm blames us. Blame the local police."
IShowSpeed gets kicked out of bullring in Spain after a run-in with local authorities
A video recorded at the Plaza de Toros de Pamplona showcases IShowSpeed talking to and being escorted by a police officer near the exit of the bullring's inner stands. Later, in the same video, the creator is seen being shoved aside by a female police officer. Right after, IShowSpeed could then be seen turning back to see who pushed him.
As explained by "Samuel" Slipz, the creator wished to run with the bulls in the arena. As per Slipz, no prior contact was to be made between the local authorities and Speed's crew, and one had to simply "show up and run" to participate.
He wrote:
"Speed himself wanted to do the bull run. There is no “contact.” There is nothing but show up and run. We get there and police shut sh** down. You guys have no clue how the real world works sometimes."
Meanwhile, on July 8, 2024, IShowSpeed hosted an IRL stream in Greece and had another concerning run-in with fans after hundreds of them started running behind his moving vehicle to interact with the creator. The streamer had to call the police for help around 20 minutes into the broadcast.
