Twitch star Zack "Asmongold" has responded to Elon Musk's decision to unfollow him on X. During a livestream on January 15, 2025, Asmongold was reacting to posts on his official subreddit when one of his viewers informed him that the South African billionaire had unfollowed him on the social media platform.
While speculating that Musk was "not happy" about a video he made on the Path of Exile (PoE) 2 controversy, the streamer said:
"'Elon unfollowed Asmon.' He's probably not happy about the PoE video. He'll get over it. Listen, it was so obvious! You cannot get mad at me for bringing this up. Everybody was talking about this! Come on, man! Come on! What is this? 'He responded about it.' You know what's really funny about it... is I saw that. Let me see if I can pull it up and find it."

Asmongold comments on Elon Musk's response to the recent Path of Exile 2 controversy
Elon Musk recently made headlines after hosting an X livestream to play Path of Exile 2. However, things did not go in the 53-year-old's favor, as some netizens accused him of using an account that had been boosted by other players.
Eventually, Twitch streamers Quintin "Quin69" and Octavian "Kripparrian" analyzed Musk's gameplay and concluded that some of his actions during the livestream were suspicious.
On January 11, 2025, Quin69 accused Musk of lying about his Path of Exile 2 abilities in a video titled Elon Musk is Lying About Being Good at Video Games.
Asmongold was among the popular streamers who commented on the controversy, stating that there was "no way" Elon Musk was the one who played on the Path of Exile 2 account:
"There is no way he played that account! Like, I'm sorry. I think he bought the account or somebody played it for him. 100-f**king-percent!" Asmongold said in this YouTube video Massive Elon Musk Scandal.
On January 15, 2025, Asmongold discovered that Musk had unfollowed him on X, supposedly over this controversy. After sharing his thoughts on the situation, the One True King (OTK) co-founder played an 18-second video, in which Musk commented on the controversy. He said:
"One of the questions was, am I going to comment on the Chinese driver of my Path of Exile account? Yes. His name is Elon Ma, and he is amazing! I rely on him for everything."
The streamer started laughing after hearing this and said:
"Well, there it is! The mystery has been solved. There we go. Well, it's been confirmed. I do think... he needs to do a playthrough. I want to see him do a playthrough of Elden Ring, man. I do!"
