A new controversy has emerged in the gaming and content creation communities after claims of Ronnie "Ronnie 2K" threatening to sue Kick streamer Adin Ross surfaced on social media. On September 1, 2024, Ronnie 2K tweeted that anyone who owned a copy of NBA 2K25 was not permitted to livestream before its official release without "written consent" from 2K.

Asserting that content creators "better think twice" before livestreaming the sports game before its release, the self-proclaimed "face of NBA 2K" tweeted:

"This shouldn't be a huge surprise... If you are in possession of a copy of NBA 2K25 before Wednesday and stream it without express written consent from 2K, you are subject to a break in terms of service. Better to think twice!"

X user @sayitjj replied that Adin Ross "will be streaming it soon." In response, Ronnie 2K claimed that the Florida native would not be broadcasting the game. He added:

"No, he won't. I talked to him, he's streaming when we agreed upon."

This interaction was later posted by X user @fearedbuck, who claimed Ronnie 2K threatened Ross with a lawsuit. They also shared a photo of the indefinitely banned Twitch personality holding his physical copy of NBA 2K25 alongside the SSB crew.

X user @fearedbuck tweeted:

"After Ronnie2k claimed he spoke with Adin Ross about not playing NBA 2K25 early and threatened him with a lawsuit, Adin Ross has now been seen with several copies of NBA 2K25 five days before its official release."

In response to this social media post, Ronnie 2K clarified that he had not threatened the Kick streamer with a lawsuit:

"Lol, I didn't threaten him with a lawsuit and my issue isn't anyone having the game. Read my tweets today for more."

Adin Ross recently claimed that he would take NBA 2K content to the "next level"

A few days ago (on August 28, 2024), Adin Ross announced on his alternate X handle, @AR15thed3mon, that he and Kick streamer Cameron "Cuffem" would be living together in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He then stated that he and his crew would take NBA 2K content to the "next level."

Referring to this as a "mini announcement," the 23-year-old tweeted:

"F**k it - I'm going to give you guys a mini announcement for Toronto. Cuffem will be living with me in the crib in Toronto we about to take the 2K content and other content to the next level."

As of this writing, it's unclear whether Adin Ross will livestream NBA 2K25 before its official release.
