Herschel "DrDisRespect" has returned to streaming after a brief hiatus following a major controversy involving text messages with a minor. The streamer made a grand return, releasing a trailer announcing his stream back on YouTube, which has been his platform of choice since his Twitch ban. The Doc came back, playing Black Myth: Wukong for his viewers.
Recently, Ed "Eddie" Craven, the CEO of the streaming platform Kick, was asked if he would consider signing a contract with DrDisRespect for a streaming deal. In response, Eddie said that the deal wouldn't make sense financially and that signing the streamer would do more harm than good.
In response to this, the streamer said he would "retire" before thinking of joining Kick. Later, a report on X claimed that he was denied an offer from another streaming platform, Rumble. On noticing this, the streamer decided to ask the CEO of Rumble, Chris Pavlovski directly. A couple hours later, the CEO, responded, saying that the news was in fact, false.
"Trashy journalism": DrDisRespect speaks on misleading news articles on the internet
Chris claimed that certain news outlets were click-baiting The Doc's name to get more exposure. In the comments section of the streamer's original post, he elaborated on what he thinks the issue is with journalism nowadays:
"Trashy fake ‘journalism’... companies actually get fooled by these headlines. Need to weed out these instigating gossip machines."
The streamer's opinions and responses to news coverage, especially regarding controversies like his Twitch ban, often involve a mix of denial and counter-criticism. In recent streams, he has pushed back against allegations related to the 2020 ban from Twitch, which reportedly involved inappropriate communication with a minor.
While he initially acknowledged some wrongdoing, he later shifted his stance, challenging the accuracy of the reports and focusing on legal technicalities. The Doc emphasized that no criminal charges were brought against him, suggesting that his removal from Twitch was influenced by ulterior motives from insiders at the company.
In related news, DrDisRespect announced that his YouTube channel has been demonetized, but despite this setback, he plans to continue streaming as usual.
