OTK co-founder Tips Out has addressed Asmongold's controversial comments about Palestine and the Gaza situation in a long post on X. For the unaware, Asmongold (aka Zack) has garnered signficiant backlash for saying Palestinian people have an "inferior culture" in a livestream on his alternate channel, Zackrawrr, on October 14, 2024. The channel has reportedly been banned for two weeks.

Tips Out has distanced himself from the comments in a statement on X dated October 15, 2024. He addressed the online community by revealing that his parents are Syrian immigrants and claiming that Asmongold had used similar language to dehumanize Muslims and other ethnic minorities in the West.

Here is the relevant part of Tips Out's post, where he equates Asmongold's language to "dehumanization":

"To many who heard Zack’s comments, the language he used, whether intended or not, wreaked of the same dehumanization that plagued their ancestors, their grandparents, and in some cases, their families today.
"It is the same language used to justify wanton violence, genocide, and the destruction of our universal brotherhood. It is the same language used to brush off a video of a Palestinian woman and child burning alive as a “price of war”.

OTK co-founder Tips Out calls for "peace" amid Asmongold's controversial Palestine remarks

Asmongold's remarks surrounding Palestinian people and the conflict in Gaza have garnered mixed reactions, with many people welcoming the Twitch ban on his secondary channel. That said, the streamer did address the community after getting backlash, claiming that he would refrain from using such language in the future.

Tips Out has gone ahead and made a statement about the situation, drawing anecdotes about his own experience as a Muslim growing up in the United States. The 37-year-old co-owner of One True King recalled how his grandfather had to flee Syria back in the 70s/80s due to persucition and claimed that perception against Muslims and other minorites changed drastically since 9/11.

Tips Out blamed the change in public attitude to "media propaganda" from people in power who are trying to divide the masses:

"The reason behind such a substantial attitude shift cannot be attributed to a single moment or event. Rather, it was the accumulation of decades and decades of subtle media propaganda designed to produce an “other”, so that the powerful can continue to prey on the angry and divided powerless."

He then called on people to come together despite their percieved differences:

"Zack’s comments may have been the impetus for this post, but if there is one thing I hope to convey in my incoherence, it is this: I desperately plea to all those reading to wake up to the forces around you that wish nothing more than to separate you from your fellow man and conquer your hearts, your minds, and your humanity."

Tips Out concluded the long post by asking for peace and claimed he would be working to grow OTK:

"Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’ll be spending most of my upcoming time working behind the scenes to ensure our staff and teams are alright and that OTK continues to grow into the place I know it can be. In the meantime, peace."

Unlike the backlash to Asmongold's remarks, Tips Out's post has received a lot of positive reactions from fellow Twitch streamers such as Caroline Kwan and JakenBakeLIVE. Readers should note that OTK has yet to make a joint statement on the matter.
