Popular YouTubers Gabi Belle and Ian "iDubbbz" have spoken out about the recent Cody Ko controversy. For those unaware, on July 14, 2024, D'Angelo Wallace posted a 14-minute video titled, An uncomfortable conversation about Cody Ko. In it, he discussed allegations that Cody Ko had sex with fellow YouTuber Tana Mongeau when she was 17 and he was 25.
At one point in the video, D'Angelo Wallace showcased a clip featuring Tana Mongeau, in which she described her interaction with Cody Ko:
"I hooked up with Cody Ko when I was 17 and he was 25. There was a situation with Gabbie Hanna at a Playlist Live, where she pulled him aside and held him like, 'Yo! She's 17!" And then he still went and hooked up. This isn't just some crazy tea. It was a crime."
Several prominent YouTube figures have weighed in on the situation, with commentary YouTuber Gabi Belle writing the following in an Instagram Story:
"Commentary of all genres should not be a boys club. I'm not gonna sit my a** here and pretend like @codyko didn't take advantage of a 17-year-old girl when he was 25, and then ignore and silence it. @codyko, say something, b**ch."
iDubbbz, meanwhile, commented on D'Angelo Wallace's video:
"This is commentary that's needed in the commentary community."
YouTuber FunkyFrogBait posted an Instagram Story explaining why she did not cover the controversy on the Internet Report series:
"If you were disappointed that I didn't cover the Cody Ko situation on the Internet Report, just know it was a bit off my radar, and I honestly did not realize how bad the situation was until now. @dangelno has a great video that summarizes everything."
D'Angelo Wallace accuses Cody Ko of "heavily censoring" the controversy
At the 10-minute mark of the aforementioned YouTube video, D'Angelo Wallace confronted Cody Ko for "refusing to say anything" about the incident. He also accused the Canadian of "heavily censoring" the situation on YouTube:
"You refuse to say anything at all. You could clarify this, but you won't. But now your cowardice has reached a new low. You've tried speaking and you've tried silence, and now you're choosing censorship. On your YouTube channel where you've been pumping out content nearly every day now, I couldn't find a single comment on your last video about this situation. Not even one."

D'Angelo Wallace continued:
"Comparing that to the comment section on your Instagram, where every single comment I saw was about this, it's clear that you're heavily censoring your audience on YouTube. But surely, you must've realized the limits by now since people have just transferred the conversation over to your wife's channel."
At the time of writing, Cody Ko had not addressed the allegations and accusations.
