YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" recently expressed his desire to race against Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, who is known for competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. In 2019, Sha’Carri Richardson's record-breaking 100-meter run time of 10.75 seconds made her one of the ten fastest women in history, at only 19 years old.

However, IShowSpeed still seems determined to beat her in their potential race together, claiming that the Olympic sprinter would not be faster than him. Talking about the matter during his broadcast, IShowSpeed said:

"Yo, chat, I gotta race Sha’Carri Richardson, y'all, alright?... I'm not gonna cap. Chat, we gotta set that up. There's no way she's faster than Mbappé, bro. She is? How do y'all know this though? She's not faster than me, though... Me and her gotta race."

IShowSpeed expresses his want to race against American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson

Sha'Carri Richardson is a 24-year-old athlete who was the sixth-fastest woman of all time in 2021 when she achieved her personal-best record of 10.72 seconds. She had qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics and became the US women's 100-meter national champion at the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Most recently, she qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which was held in Paris, France. There, she won the silver medal in the 100m relay and gold in the 4×100m relay.

On the other hand, IShowSpeed has proved his athletic mettle time and time again, by partaking in various forms of sport during his broadcasts and sometimes even seemingly matching the performance level of professionals. One such incident was when IShowSpeed went up against American sprinter Noah Lyles in a race and barely lost.

Even though Noah Lyles claimed he had only been running at twenty percent of his max speed, IShowSpeed claimed that the sprinter had to put in considerable effort to win against him.

IShowSpeed also recently accepted American NFL player and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill's challenge for a race. Hill uploaded a YouTube video on December 4, 2024, in which he stated that he would be willing to race IShowSpeed only if his charitable foundation receives $100,000 if he wins.
