YouTubers and streamers Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" and Ludwig Ahgren have joined forces with the popular e-commerce company, Shopify, to support its esports organization, Shopify Rebellion. The company's founder Jeremy Steeves announced that Charlie and Ludwig would be hopping on board to create a "more resilient organization over the long term."
To summarize Shopify Rebellion's journey, the organization, founded in 2021, has rapidly expanded across multiple esports titles, including StarCraft II, Rocket League, Valorant, Halo, Dota 2, and League of Legends. In January 2025, the organization merged with Moist Esports, which was founded by MoistCr1TiKaL in 2021.
In an official message issued via the organization's official social media accounts, Steeves of Shopify Rebellion expressed excitement for what's to come:
"Coming together allows us to field more and stronger tearns, invest deeper for fans, provide more to our players a create a singular, more resilient organization over the long-term."
The founder of Shopify Rebellion Jeremy Steeves issues an official message welcoming MoistCr1TiKaL and Ludwig
In the recent message, Jeremy reflected on the organization's origins and its recent merger with Moist Esports. He recounted how, in the fall of 2019, he and Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke were inspired by the HomeStory Cup, an esports event held in Germany.
Their enthusiasm led to a significant $25,000 donation to the event's prize pool, marking Shopify's initial foray into esports. This experience underscored the passion-driven nature of the industry and influenced their decision to establish Shopify Rebellion as an independent esports organization, aligning with Shopify's culture of supporting builders and independent entrepreneurs.
Now, the organization seems to be growing especially considering their recent partnership with the multinational technology company, Razer. This, accompanied by the fact that MoistCr1TiKaL and Ludwig would be joining the roster, gives Steeves a sense of optimism:
"And today, we're welcoming Ludwig and Charles (MoistCr1TiKal) as new co-owners of Rebellion. Over the last year we've been working together both publicly (with projects like [Moist x Shopify Rebellion] Valorant) but also behind the scenes, supporting each other's teams and programs and realizing pretty quickly that we were headed the same direction on how we wanted to build in esports over the next decade and beyond."
To conclude, he urged the fanbases of both Charlie and Ludwig to have faith in this operation and requested their collective support:
"If you're a fan of Moist Esports, Charles or Lud, I hope we can continue to earn your support-it's not something we'll ever take for granted."
In other news, MoistCr1TiKaL disclosed his earnings from the "most profitable" streams on Twitch and YouTube.
