A clip of Jack Doherty thanking his followers for donating gifts to him on TikTok has gone viral on social media, drawing renewed backlash against the former Kick streamer. For context, Doherty has received a lot of criticism since he crashed his McLaren on stream a couple of days ago. He has been accused of distracted driving and endangering the life of his passenger.

Prominent figures like xQc have called him out for seemingly looking at his phone while driving and urging his injured cameraman, Michael, to film the scene of the accident. Although Doherty apologized to Michael, many online have urged the cameraman to sue him.

Doherty's thank-you message to viewers for their TikTok donations has ignited further controversy on X. Critics have slammed both Doherty and the fans who sent the donations, with some calling for TikTok to ban the content creator, just like Kick did.

Here are some general reactions:

"Everyone who’s giving gifts should not have a right to speak," wrote @Ybthanatxs.
"No one should be giving this loser a dime. He’s a shi**y person!," exclaimed @JEM_el_tarasco.
"Nothing sadder than begging for gifts on TikTok. I absolutely love this downfall!," said @lulcowz.
"Should be banned from TikTok too," claimed @AyooTexanNation.

Jack Doherty claims he hydroplaned while driving his McLaren on TikTok as viewers accuse him of being on the phone

Jack Doherty's car accident went viral on social media soon after it was captured on his Kick stream. While the platform has seemingly banned him, clips of the incident were shared and watched by millions on platforms like X.

On a recent TikTok live, Doherty was thanking his supporters for sending him gifts and donations when he claimed that he hydroplaned while driving his McLaren, saying:

"How did you crash your car? I hydroplaned, I literally hydroplaned. I'm in an McLaren in the pouring rain, what do you expect? You guys have never driven a McLaren."

While cars can hydroplane and lose control in rainy conditions, many viewers were displeased that he was asking for TikTok gifts without mentioning he was on the phone before the crash.

"its easy to drive in the rain when ur not speeding or looking at ur phone dumba**," claimed @sundognation.

Some viewers are of the opinion that Jack Doherty should be investigated by the police.

"I genuinely don’t understand why he isn’t behind bars right now. There’s literally a video of him committing felony speeding while on the phone in rainy weather. Even if the passenger didn’t press charges, those are felony charges. I don’t get it. Why do police even exist?" asked @HoopTalk69.

And it's not just viewers who have called him out for the incident. 100 Thieves CEO Nadeshot has claimed that Jack Doherty deserves jail time for the car crash.

It's worth noting that nearly all the clips (featuring the crash) Doherty posted on X have community notes pointing out that the unedited stream shows him using a phone during the incident.
