FaZe clan CEO Richard "Banks" had a few words to say to those accusing the clan's newest members of inflating their stream's performance by view-botting them. The creator had initially made a post on X talking about the decision he had made in April 2024 to "reboot" the organization. This had taken place following the clan's acquisition by GameSquare, an esports company, and his subsequent assumption of the role of the organization's CEO.
Within the post, Banks discussed the popularity of the newer members, specifically Lacy, Max "plaqueboymax", and Jason "jasontheween", who were getting tens of thousands of concurrent viewers on their Twitch streams.
After netizens seemingly made accusations against these clan members of using view-botting to increase their numbers, Banks responded by stating that it was a testament to the clan's popularity. He wrote:
"The fact any of yall think the boys are viewbotting just shows the kinda motion FaZe got right now. I’m here to assure you guys they’re not. Just the homies cracking off, grinding, having fun. With love always."
Banks responds to allegations of new FaZe members view-botting their streams
During the restructuring phase, Banks removed over a dozen of the creators from the clan's rosters and enlisted four new members, namely Max, Silky, Jason, and Lacy. Furthermore, Banks started a new venture named FaZe Media in partnership with DraftKings co-founder Matt Kalish, with a $11 million investment by the latter.
After X user @yoxics posted regarding the prominence the new members were getting on Twitch, Banks made a post calling out those who were doubting him during the restructuring phase. He stated:
"Who remembers 2 months ago when everyone was spamming me 'Who the f**k are these people? You’re ruining FaZe. You’re an idiot'"
Further, he talked about the liberty the clan now enjoyed regarding what they thought was "fun," rather than having to work as per the want of "corporate bozos". This was also what Banks had claimed to be the reason behind the massive layoffs in April 2024. He continued:
"Do you guys miss the version of FaZe where we’re all depressed & corporate bozos are extracting the maximum amount of money they can from us AND YOU?... With all due respect we aren't doing sh*t for other people anymore, we're doing it for ourselves. What we think is fun, what we think is cool."
Twitch creator Rani "Stable Ronaldo" has made some serious accusations against clan member Nordan "Rain", stating that he was "faking" being bound to a wheelchair as a means to gain sympathy while collecting millions of dollars.
