In a social media post on January 8, 2025, Michael "Shroud" announced that he is pausing his Fragathon charity Twitch stream due to the safety risk associated with the ongoing California fires. The popular content creator explained that the safety of the individuals associated with the subathon comes first and apologized to his community for the disruption.

For context, Shroud announced a charity subathon for January 2025 last week in honor of his father, who passed away from cancer a few years ago. Fragathon was set to incorporate the number of frags or in-game kills the streamer and his friends rack up during the stream into a donation.

However, due to the wildfires in the LA County area of California, the streamer has decided to pause the subathon for the time being. In a post on X, he informed his community about the decision, stating that the road closures and power shutdown have forced him to disrupt the broadcast:

'Putting a quick pause on the Fragathon stream. We lost power, and the storm is still really bad. With road closures and fires, we need to ensure everyone stays safe, including production and guests."

The Canadian internet personality also apologized to his fans and assured them that Fragathon would be back as soon as possible:

"Sorry gamers, we’ll be back as soon as we can!"

"Hope all of you guys stay safe!": Fans express concern for Shroud as the Twitch star pauses Fragathon due to wildfires in LA

Due to the massive damage caused by wildfires in LA County, Shroud has had to pause the charity subathon he was hosting on his channel on January 8, 2025. After the Legacy Award winner at the Streamer Awards 2024 announced the disruption to Fragathon, many of his fans expressed concern over his safety.

"Hope all of you guys stay safe!" X user @Heart_Of_Kyber posted.

Fellow Twitch streamer just9n reacted with disappointment.

"Such a bummer, but safety is #1 then teamwork," he wrote.

Popular esports personality Sean Gares also replied to the streamer's announcement.

"Stay safe shroudy," he said.

According to some fans, the content creator should postpone the subathon to February:

"Fragathon February has a nice ring to it. Stay safe, Mike and friends. :)," @Anonemuss_ wrote.

It is unclear when the Twitch star will be back to streaming the Fragathon.
