Veteran Twitch star Michael Grzesiek, aka Shroud, has opened up about his relationship with Dr DisRespect (real name: Guy Beahm) after a viewer asked him if he had contacted the YouTube streamer amid his recent controversy. For those unaware, Dr DisRespect is currently in the middle of a huge scandal after he was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor.

A former Twitch employee claimed last week that the texts were the reason the content creator got permanently banned from the Amazon-owned platform in 2020.

Dr DisRespect ultimately made a statement on X and admitted to messaging a minor. With many fellow streamers and content creators denouncing him online, it was only a matter of time before Shroud spoke on the issue.

In his latest Twitch stream, Shroud claimed that he had cut off all contact with The Doc from the moment he got banned in 2020:

"'Tried to hit up Doc at all?' No. I haven't talked to him since he got banned. Because I am a logical person. The second Doc got banned on Twitch, my logic kicked in and I said, 'Yep!'"

"People just don't get banned": Shroud explains why he stopped talking to Dr DisRespect four years ago

A former Counter-Strike professional who dominated Twitch back in the day, Shroud is one of the most famous figures in the gaming industry despite being well past his prime. The Canadian boasts over 10.9 million followers on the Amazon-owned platform and streams several types of games, with an emphasis on shooters like Valorant, Escape from Tarkov, and Rainbow Six Seige.

Considering he had collaborated with Dr DisRespect before, many were naturally curious whether he had contacted the YouTuber amid his recent controversy.

However, Shroud made it clear that he had essentially been ghosting the content creator since he got mysteriously banned back in 2020, even though the reason was not made public back then.

The streamer noted that people don't get banned without doing something wrong and explained why he didn't associate with Dr DisRespect for the last four years:

"You don't just get banned randomly and I didn't say a word to him, didn't message him, didn't reply to anything on Twitter. Didn't associate at all. Because you don't just get banned, I am not a f**king idiot. F**king use your brain people. People just don't get banned."

Now that the YouTube star has owned up to messaging a minor back in the day, and the reason for his Twitch ban is out in public for all to see, it seems Shroud's logic paid off.

Readers should note that Dr DisRespect's other friends, such as Nickmercs and TimTheTatman, who had collaborated with him even after his Twitch ban, have denounced him for sending inappropriate messages to a minor. They have put out statements claiming that they cannot support him anymore.
