Jimmy "MrBeast" has had a tumultuous 2024 so far, surrounded by controversy and allegations. It would seem that the YouTube megastar finds himself in troubled waters almost every month, causing internet drama that engages millions. Most recently, Chris Broad, the creator of Abroad In Japan (a YouTube channel revolving around Japanese culture) called out MrBeast on a Twitch livestream.
On October 12, 2024, Chris appeared on CDawgVA's broadcast and discussed YouTubers, including MrBeast and Logan Paul. CDawgVA, better known as Connor, often creates content centered around Japan or anime.
As Chris and Connor sat down to discuss content creation, the latter brought up philanthropy, which led to the topic of Logan Paul and MrBeast. Chris showed no restraint and blatantly called out Logan for his insensitivity:
"Logan Paul, the biggest f**king c*nt there is... If he's not filming somebody who's recently taken their own life... and making it about themselves, somebody who exploited their viewers through cryptocurrency scams." (Timestamp - 3:18)
The clips of Abroad In Japan speaking against some of the biggest content creators on YouTube went viral, and in response to this, he said the following on X:
"My rant wasn’t about 'making money is bad'. It was about the act of making money by partnering with a man with an abhorrent track record to sell crap food aimed at children seems like a pretty spectacular error of judgment."
Abroad In Japan criticizes Logan Paul and MrBeast for being insensitive and money-minded
Initially, during the stream, Chris spoke about MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI's collaborative product, Lunchly. He then went on to recount Logan's breakout controversy, the 2017 "Suicide Forest" incident, where Logan Paul faced widespread backlash after posting a YouTube video showing a deceased body in Japan's Aokigahara.
About MrBeast and his philanthropic ventures, Chris said the following:
"I mean, anyone that thinks MrBeast is about anything other than making himself the richest YouTuber in the world has missed something." (Timestamp - 1:35)
Chris also touched upon Paul's CryptoZoo, a controversial NFT project that faced backlash due to accusations of being a scam, with many investors claiming they lost money as the promised game features were never delivered.
In 2017, soon after the "Suicide Forest" incident, Chris went on Japanese National Television and expressed his thoughts on foreigners causing a ruckus in Japan, concerning Logan Paul.

In the interview, Chris expressed strong opinions about Logan and said:
"When I saw the Logan Paul video, I was definitely angry. The thing that worries me is, his younger viewers that watch his videos might see that and think it's alright."
However, Chris stated overall that while he does not think MrBeast and Logan are "pure evil", he wouldn't be inclined to shake hands with them as collaborators or business partners.
