FaZe Clan has been on the receiving end of much backlash from users online after the organization's official X account posted a picture of them supposedly urinating on the awards that they received at the 2024 iteration of The Streamer Awards. The image involved all three awards received by members of the organization during the award ceremony.
While FaZe Clan, as a whole, won the Best Content Organization award at The Streamer Awards ceremony, its members Maxwell "PlaqueBoyMax" and Jason "jasontheween" won the Best Creative Arts Streamer and Best Breakout Streamer awards, respectively.
Many users have condemned the post by the FaZe Clan account, with some labeling it "disrespectful." Here are some user reactions to the post:
"??? this is super disrespectful," wrote X user @daddydrittsekk
"So disrespectful," wrote X user @PhillyboiP64337
"Pi**ing on an award that the fans voted for and gave you is kinda wild," wrote X user @wannorr1
While expressing their disappointment, some stated that Any Means Possible (AMP) should have won the Best Content Organization award instead of FaZe:
"Nah i take it back. AMP should've won," wrote X user @blissjeans
"Is it too late to change my vote or…," wrote X user @tokki_moa
That said, the authenticity of FaZe Clan's supposed actions is disputed. Some users claim that its members simply used bottles of water:
"1 it was a recreation of a Kanye pic; 2 not real, literally faked w water bottles; 3 I genuinely dont think QT cares," wrote X user @digitalbunnieee
FaZe Clan CEO Banks responds to backlash over the post
FaZe Clan CEO Richard "Banks" clarified and confirmed the intention of the FaZe members behind the controversial photo. The image uploaded by FaZe was the recreation of a video uploaded by Kanye West supposedly urinating on one of his Grammy awards while calling out the music industry.
In a caption similar to Kanye West's original, Banks wrote:
"Trust me … WE WONT STOP"
In other news, Twitch streamer Félix "xQc" recently criticized FaZe member Rani "Stable Ronaldo" and claimed that he rolls excessive ads. He claimed that while trying to watch Stable Ronaldo's stream, he was " hit with three minutes of ads."
