Twitch streamer John "Tectone" has weighed in on the recent controversy involving YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast." For those out of the loop, Jake Weddle, a former MrBeast employee, discussed his time working for the 26-year-old in a YouTube video posted by DogPack404 on August 8, 2024.
At one point, Weddle claimed he was sleep-deprived during the filming of a MrBeast video. According to him, the content creator's crew refused to turn off the lights for him at night. Weddle also accused them of denying him access to sunlight and a clock, claiming that lights were on "all the time."
Weddle further stated that he developed insomnia as a result of the incident:
"One of the things was - they take all your clocks, you didn't know what time it was. I got no access to the sun. I got no access to a clock. I don't know... the lights are on me all the time. I wasn't sleeping. I could not sleep. I have insomnia problems now. It might have started there."
Weddle's accusations went viral on social media platforms such as X and Reddit, with some netizens labeling MrBeast as a "war criminal."
During a livestream on August 9, 2024, Tectone got into an argument with his moderator, LaceyLittlebow, who claimed that the MrBeast video showcased "undisclosed psychological torture" that was "played off as a challenge."
In response, the One True King (OTK) member remarked:
"You have to understand that the room he was staying in was in better living conditions than Asmongold. Okay? You've got to understand, like, this place brought him food. Like, he had entertainment."
When LaceyLittlebow said Zack "Asmongold" had the option to turn the lights off, Tectone argued that Weddle could have simply "closed his eyes":
"Brother, you want the lights off (Tectone places his tank top on top of his face)? Am I crazy? Close your eyes."

Tectone comments on whether MrBeast was "exploiting desperate a man"
During the same livestream, Tectone's attention was drawn to Twitch user "eggumel," who asked if he thought MrBeast was "essentially exploiting a desperate man":
"Nah it's stupid to agree to those challenges, you're right, but you agree Mr Beast essentially exploiting a desperate man right?"
The gacha games streamer responded:
"Would I agree that MrBeast is exploiting desperate men? Yes. However, I think society has been doing that for a very long time. I don't think he's alone in this."

Tectone also explained why he believed people were being "hypocrites" amid the controversy, saying:
"So I do think that if you take problem with these MrBeast 'challenges,' then you need to take a lot of issues with a lot more things because that's kind of why... and I'm going to give you an example of why I think people are being hypocrites. I think you know who people cheer for the most. The person who has the biggest sob story and why they really need the money. Right?
In other news, popular YouTuber LegalEagle has claimed that DogPack404 could get in trouble while discussing his allegations against MrBeast.
