YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" recently expressed his frustration after finding out that Argentinian football star Lionel Messi was added as a playable skin in Fortnite. Messi has now become one of the newer additions to Fortnite's Icon Skins series, which contains many other celebrities and popular personalities.
However, this did not sit right with IShowSpeed, a very vocal fan of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Owing to Ronaldo often being compared with Messi in terms of their achievements and legacy, a rivalry has developed between the fanbases of the two athletes.
Questioning why Lionel Messi was available as a skin in Fortnite but not Ronaldo, IShowSpeed said:
"Tell me f**king why! Tell me why is he in Fortnite right now! Yo, yo, yo, no, no! Chat! Tell me why! Like, somebody in the stream tell me why!"

Fortnite has a special series of skins that are dedicated to celebrities, thus allowing their fans to play as them in-game. Some skins are available as part of Fortnite's Icon series skins, including streamer Nicholas "Nick Eh 30," hip-hop artist Travis Scott, YouTuber Jimmy "MrBeast," rapper Eminem, and multiple variants of singer Billie Eilish.
On the other side, IShowSpeed has been a dedicated fan of Cristiano Ronaldo for the majority of his time making content online. In fact, the streamer's signature tours of 2024 were kicked off with his time in Germany, where was staying to be able to catch Ronaldo representing Portugal and partaking in the UEFA European Football Championship.
Dreading the presence of Messi's Fortnite skin in the absence of one dedicated to Ronaldo, IShowSpeed exclaimed:
"If I go on Fortnite and if I see him before Ronaldo at that, chat, there will be problems! There will be problems!"
In a hilarious move, an unknown individual gifted him the Lionel Messi skin. As IShowSpeed opened Fortnite, he was met with a screen showcasing his gift. Expectedly, this caused the YouTuber to get enraged and start hurling insults at the individual who sent him the skin.
While accidentally lifting his green screen background, IShowSpeed got off his chair and exclaimed:
"Who the f**k gifted me this sh**?! Who the f**k gifted me this?!"
In a recent interview with fellow YouTuber Jon Youshaei, IShowSpeed revealed his intention to eventually hold a live broadcast from space. He stated that we could collaborate with Elon Musk to make the special broadcast happen.
