Popular Twitch streamer Imane "Pokimane" was left shocked after hearing the recent allegations leveled against Kick, the Stake-backed streaming platform. For those unaware of the ongoing situation, Melissa "ItsMelissaDude," a former employee of Kick, took to her YouTube channel to make some unsavory claims about the streaming platform.

Among the many things she said, one was how Kick tried to bring a female streamer battling cancer (later confirmed to be Kyedae) to their side by offering her a "low price" contract.

Melissa alleged that the employees thought the content creator would need the money since she was terminally ill. She said:

"The quote that I remember hearing was, 'We can get her on Kick, streaming Stake, for a relatively low price because she probably thinks she is gonna die soon and she'll wanna leave more money for her family'."

Pokimane, who has streamed with Kyedae in the past, was naturally shocked at the statements. She reacted by stating:

"That's not even weird, that's evil."

"Don't feel they are booming right now" - Pokimane reacts to the recent allegations against Kick

Pokimane responded to the ongoing controversy surrounding Kick after playing the 19-minute video posted by Melissa. When Melissa mentioned that Kick's management did not anticipate her departure from the company, the streamer reacted:

"I would believe someone wants to leave Kick. I also don't feel like they are booming right now. I think maybe when they first launched and or the first few months, you might say that, but I don't really think that's the consensus currently."

Melissa also alleged that the working culture at the company was toxic, stating that many of the employees would be transphobic or racist. Pokimane responded:

"Wait, you know the thing that freaks me out the most is, these people are probably all in their 20s, 30s, and 40s and this is a behavior that is happening in an office. Sometimes you see this happen in video games, kids trying to get a reaction out of people, but grown men with jobs?"

Felix "xQc," one of Kick's biggest streamers, had initially dismissed the allegations involving Kyedae to be false. However, the Japanese-Canadian personality herself has now come out to say that Kick had indeed tried to offer her a contract to stream on their platform.
