Streamer Kai Cenat is currently in the final leg of his viral live event — the second edition of his subathon series, Mafiathon 2. A large part of these 24/7 streams involve guest appearances from the likes of celebrities and dancers. On a stream dated November 26, 2024, a highly controversial event involving magician Max Major unfolded.

Max seemingly orchestrated a dramatic stunt, where he climbed onto a scaffolding with three nooses tied behind him. He directed Kai to pull one of three color-coded cords, suggesting the choice was pivotal. Ultimately, Max placed a noose around his neck, and when Kai pulled a cord, Max appeared to be hanged briefly.

This shocking act caused immediate distress among Kai and his team, prompting the camera to be turned off. Later, Max revealed through a pre-recorded video that it was all a planned trick designed to break the internet.

Later, Jack Doherty, a controversial streamer, spoke on the incident via a post on X.

Jack claimed that Kai Cenat's production team should have never green-flagged Max Major's stunt:

"What was the plan here? Prank or not the guy still has a rope around his neck, which is just crazy that Kai’s team would even approve of anything like this in the first place. There’s no “magic” or “prank” that should involve a rope around someone’s neck. That’s just a line you don’t cross."

Jack Doherty is no stranger to controversy either. Back in October 2024, he was banned from Kick for a live car crash allegedly caused by his negligent driving.

What events followed Max Major's controversial stunt on Kai Cenat's stream?

Kai Cenat expressed frustration and clarified that he and his team had no prior knowledge of the stunt’s specifics. The incident sparked backlash, with critics debating whether the act was in poor taste and whether Kai bore any responsibility for airing such content. While some defended Kai, saying he was misled, others criticized the event's nature, especially given its live audience.

This moment overshadowed an otherwise record-breaking subathon for Kai, who approached 600,000 subscribers on Twitch during the event. Considering this, Kai was visibly shaken, expressing fears of a ban from Twitch:

"I might get banned!.. Ni**a I might get banned! Is he good?"

After this, Kai, using some of his security's brute force, hauled a member of Max Major's team to the main streaming room. There, Kai along with the broadcast's celebrity guest, rapper Sexyy Red, confronted the team member and spoke about concerns regarding foul play.

To top it off, after the ordeal, Kai read out a cryptic text message from Max, one that did not involve an apology for the stunt:

"It's Max, I don't have my phone, I think we have everyone leave, and we let the story be what it is. I'm the bad guy, but coming back doesn't change anything."

In other news, Kai Cenat seemingly tricked Jack Doherty into donating gifted subscribers to his Mafiathon 2 stream.
