Steven "Boogie2988" has made headlines yet again, days after his fake diagnosis controversy became a heated discussion. The streamer is now being discussed among netizens for his "LIAR" tattoo on his right cheek, which seems to be fading away after just a week of getting it.
To those unaware, the creator had gotten the tattoo as a "punishment" during an episode of Lolcow Live, a podcast hosted by Daniel "Keemstar". With the tattoo now visibly disappearing, netizens have reacted with condemnation towards Boogie2988 for seemingly faking and "lying" about the tattoo as well.
In a post made on the r/h3h3productions subreddit, many users are speculating the reasons for the tattoo to have reduced in intensity in such a short period along with touches of sarcasm.
Reddit user u/5eve pointed out the irony of the situation considering the speculations regarding Boogie2988 lying about the tattoo after getting it as a punishment for the fake cancer diagnosis scandal.
"God that’s poetic."
u/SandeeWJohnson speculated other reasons that could have caused the tattoo to fade out:
"Tattoos usually don’t fade that much unless there’s been some serious sun exposure or something."
On the other hand, the situation seemed to "make perfect sense" to Reddit user u/BPD_LV, while taking into consideration the context:
"A liar lying about a tattoo that labels him as a liar is not a surprise to me. Makes perfect sense."
u/Ok-Potato-1863 believed that the tattoo could have been fading due to him repeatedly picking on the scabs being formed by the tattoo:
"It couldn't be laser treatments. It's way too soon after the tattoo to do that. He was talking about how it was "infected" the other day on the podcast so I wonder if he scratched it so much it's somehow fading?"
u/memarco2 expressed their lack of surprise at the discovery of the tattoo becoming less apparent over time:
"This is the least surprising thing tbh"
What was the controversy surrounding Boogie2988's "cancer diagnosis"?
Boogie2988 had been accused of "lying" about his health status by Twitch political commentator Steven "Destiny" on July 10, 2024, during a live stream. The streamer tried to break down the health conditions as described by Boogie2988 and his doctor's advice for subsequent tests.
He ended up deleting his X account and was eventually confronted by both Destiny and Mutahar "SomeOrdinaryGamers" in an episode of Daniel "Keemstar's" Lolcow Live podcast, on July 18, 2024. There, he threatened to self-harm using a knife before being thrown out of the Discord call by Keemstar.
Boogie2988 used the "N-word" multiple times during an episode of the Lolcow Live podcast on May 29, 2024, much to the dismay of host Keemstar. After repeated use, Keemstar could be seen simply getting up and walking away from the Discord, after stating that Boogie2988's actions could lead to the podcast being shut down in its entirety.
