Yousef "Fousey" Erakat seems to always be surrounded by controversy. Throughout both his careers on YouTube and Kick, the Palestinian-American content creator has found himself in troubling situations. In a recent Kick stream, he spoke on one particular incident, involving law enforcement, a year ago, on August 23, 2023.
Fousey's top controversies range from racist slurs to boxing matches, but his public meltdown in Miami was undoubtedly a highlight for the internet. A little after midnight on August 23, 2023, Fousey found himself in police custody after having a meltdown during a livestream and getting himself swatted.
In a recent Kick stream, he reminisced about what happened last year. While he was recounting his memories of the incident, he read a comment in his chatbox that said that the stream was great. Fousey replied:
"Yeah for you!.. Fu*k off!.. That was the worst day of my life."
In the clip above, Fousey opened up by taking his viewers on a trip down memory lane.
"One year ago, on this day, I crashed out in front of 85,000 live viewers, a lot more non-concurrent ones, there were hundreds of thousands. I got arrested by Miami PD, and I told them I had a nine-inch p*nis and offered them to suck it, and I got thrown into a psych ward, and then I got thrown into rehab, and it was the end of the G7 two-month, IRL, 24/7, subathon. Happy anniversary."
He then showed appreciation to fans who stuck around ever since that episode.
"For those of you who are still here after all that, 'Hi'... Thank you for still being here, I appreciate it"
Revisiting Fousey's August 2023 incident
In August 2023, Fousey sparked controversy by calling Miami police and falsely claiming he was being held at gunpoint in his hotel room.
During this chaotic August 2023 livestream, the content creator exhibited increasingly unstable behavior, making alarming threats, including talk of committing murder. He also said he'd sue the police, all while live-streaming his erratic actions. Fousey discussed his time in custody during the recent live stream:
"I remember being in the back of the police car, and I'm yelling at them - 'You're going to get sued!.. 'You're going to lose your job!', and I start banging my head on the cage... my whole head was bloody."
In other news, Kick streamer N3on faced criticism after claiming that streaming is more challenging than competing in the Olympics.
