Jirard Khalil aka "The Completionist" had quite an eventful 2023 following his donation controversy. For those unaware, back in November 2023, YouTubers Karl Jobst and Mutahar "SomeOrdinaryGamers" accused Khalil and his Open Hand Foundation of withholding over $600K in funds that were intended for dementia patients and research.
Today (December 23, 2024), Karl Jobst released a new video on The Completionist over a couple of major updates and reports. Firstly, Jobst claimed that Khalil and his foundation might be under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He said:
"If you search the charity through the Office of the Attorney General, it says that their reporting is incomplete and the IRS form is required...There are multiple possible reasons why they aren't submitting their forms - the most obvious would be that they haven't done their 2023 accounting but it could also mean that they are currently being audited by the IRS."
To further back this claim, Jobst showcased the Open Hand Foundation's registration, which shows that they have already done their accounting. The YouTuber asserted that there would be no need for them to delay their IRS reports. For those curious, here's how much they raised:
The Completionist reportedly loses lawsuit against NoPixel
YouTuber Karl Jobst also revealed that The Completionist and his company, That One Video Entertainment, LLC (TOVE), lost a lawsuit they had filed against the popular GTA 5 RP server NoPixel.
The basis of TOVE's lawsuit was their claim that a developer and employee named DW wrote code for NoPixel. TOVE argued that this made the code the property of DW, thereby entitling TOVE to own half of NoPixel. Jobst said:
"This entire lawsuit was a shakedown and an extortion attempt from Day 1. It was all bullsh*t."
According to court documents, the lawsuit didn’t even make it to trial and was dismissed beforehand. Allegedly, NoPixel is now seeking over $230,000 in attorney fees from TOVE.
Currently, The Completionist is inactive on YouTube, with their last video uploaded in August 2024. However, they have not commented on their IRS situation or the lawsuit against NoPixel.
