Twitch streamer Kai Cenat recently wrapped up his most successful streaming event yet, the second edition of his Mafiathon series. Over 725,000 new active subscribers jumped aboard the streamer's channel during November 2024, setting a new world record. Part of the event's success was recurring themes or guests, like "NPC Miles Morales," who kept the chatbox engaged while Kai slept.

Additionally, Kai had a $24,000 AI robot from 1X Technologies, which became a highlight of the subathon. This robot, equipped with voice command capabilities, remote control functions, and even the ability to perform tasks like brushing teeth, added a futuristic touch to the 30-day live stream.

Recently, a BTS video showing the production behind the streamer's massive event revealed that the 1X robot was actually controlled remotely. Utilizing the latest and greatest from Meta, Cenat's production team used the Meta Quest 3, a mixed-reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR) headset.

The robot picked up on cues throughout Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 2, similar to how a human would. A particularly memorable moment involved Kai gifting a robot to Snoop Dogg during the stream. Dubbed "Snoop-Bot," the AI assistant tried holding a blunt for Snoop, though it amusingly dropped it initially.

The BTS video shows a brief demonstration of how the system works. The VR headset seemingly captures the robot's point-of-view and the joysticks can control arm movement. As the user moved his hand forward, so did the robot.

1X Technologies is a robotics company focused on creating humanoid robots for practical applications, with a vision of enhancing human-robot collaboration. Founded in 2014 as Halodi Robotics, the company later rebranded and has grown significantly, developing advanced androids like EVE and NEO.

EVE, introduced in 2018, took center stage during Kai Cenat's Mafiathon series, showcasing its impressive abilities. The robot demonstrated versatility by engaging in tasks such as folding laundry, dancing with Kai, and delivering motivational speeches. It should be noted that the speeches were brought to life with a voice provided by a member of Kai's production team.

Its humanoid design also includes a screen for displaying emotions and a mobility system akin to a Segway, allowing it to navigate the massive mansion hosting the event.

In other news, Kai Cenat collaborated with Ironmouse, the VTuber who previously held the record for most active subscribers in 2024.
