Twitch and Kick star Felix "xQc" has taken to his livestream to react to a controversy surrounding the Stake-backed streaming platform. For context, a former Kick staff member, Melissa "ItsMelissaDude," recently levelled certain allegations against her former employers. She claimed that the website had tried to sign a terminally ill streamer for a "low price." She said:

"The quote that I remember hearing was, 'We can get her on Kick, streaming Stake for a relatively low price because she probably thinks she's going to die soon, and she'll wanna leave more money for her family.'"

While she didn't take any names, the streaming community was quick to surmise that this unnamed female streamer was Kyedae. For those unaware, in March 2023, Kyedae revealed her Acute Myeloid Leukemia (cancer of the blood and bone marrow) diagnosis.

xQc also appeared to conclude that the person in question was Kyedae (Melissa still hasn't confirmed the identity of the streamer). In his broadcast, he stated that neither Kick nor Stake had made any contact with Kyedae regarding a contract. He said:

"I asked. There was no communication done to Kyedae from Kick or Stake. I even sent people to visit on the Kick part because apparently it could've been Kick. I even asked to investigate if anybody at Kick ever said anything to Kyedae and I didn't get anything."

Aside from the contract allegations, ItsMelissaDude also claimed that Kick had "decimated" the pay rate of a streamer with special needs. She alleged:

"There is a creator on Kick who got a contract through one of the bigger streamers. This creator has special needs and we gave him a contract out of good faith... when I asked about the streamer's contract renewal, he (Kick employee) had a smirk on his face and goes, 'I decimated his rate'."

xQc reacted to these claims as well, stating that the contract was given based on current analysis:

"I said the contract given from length of time based on current analysis, and there was a contract renewal based on the new analysis, the new analytics and that's what it came down to."

The streamer with special needs is assumed to be Jake Future, who has over 52K followers on his Kick channel. He gained recognition after being platformed by fellow streamer and Kick co-owner Adin Ross.
