YouTuber Ludwig Ahgren blasted Kick in a recent live broadcast with FaZe Clan member and Twitch star Jasontheween. For context, Ahgren was talking about the massive controversy at TwitchCon 2024, where several streamers affiliated with Kick were banned from the convention for reportedly troubling Twitch content creators.

Ludwig did not mince his words when criticizing Kick and the streamers who were disruptive at the event. He claimed that the platform seems to breed more "bad eggs" than others:

"I think it's poison, I think there's a bunch of sh*t streamers on the platform whose entire thing is to disrupt. And it's a bunch of people, it's not like it's an exclusive problem. And it feels like, okay, every platform has bad eggs. Why does Kick breed so many?"

"Sometimes their bans are slaps on the wrist": Ludwig wants Kick to dole out harsher punishment for creating a nuisance at TwitchCon

Numerous Kick content creators were thrown out of TwitchCon 2024 for reportedly causing trouble at the event. Controversial internet personality DBR666 was banned from Kick days after he went viral for giving unsolicited kisses to Twitch streamers Nmplol and Wakewilder. And he was not the only one who created a nuisance at the convention.

Ludwig insinuated that there must be an organizational problem at Kick, adding that the platform needs to fix the issue if it wants to change its image:

"I think there is a poison in their well, I think there's something in their water, you know what I mean? They have to fix that if they ever want to become a legitimate platform. Unless they just want to be that platform that is just like the 'f**k you' platform where dumb sh*t happens."

Jasontheween interjected, claiming that Kick is getting relatively better:

"I think they are getting better though."

Ludwig replied:

"Progress isn't linear, right?"

Jasontheween agreed and pointed out that the platform had banned many people responsible for the incidents at TwitchCon 2024:

"They started banning people.

Ed Craven, co-founder of Kick, has publicly addressed the controversy on X and reassured users that multiple streamers had been banned. Ludwig acknowledged that this was a good thing but criticized the platform for not doling out harsher suspensions:

"That's good, and they should continue to do that more legitimately. I feel like sometimes their bans are slaps on their wrist. They have a layup right now. They have so many people, and maybe I missed it, but there were so many people on TwitchCon that did heinous sh*t, and you should have layup bans."

In related news, Ice Poseidon was recently accused of paying people to harass streamers at TwitchCon 2024. The controversial content creator has denied these claims in a post on X.
