Twitch streamer Chrisnxtdoor, who is a co-member of the popular AMP group containing the likes of Kai Cenat and Fanum, has called out Complex magazine after the media outlet released an apology statement apologizing for a gaffe involving a mixing of up identities. This happened in a controversial article that the outlet had published a few days ago.

Complex had put out a report on the allegations levied against Kai Cenat's cameraman, ChrisV, who was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor. In the article dated July 30, ChrisV was mistakenly identified as Chrisnxtdoor, causing him to come down on the outlet. Complex released a separate statement apologizing for the mixup on August 4.

Chrisnxtdoor, however, was not very pleased and claimed that the media outlet only changed the article after getting a call from his lawyer. The streamer also found fault with the statement that said the mistake was immediately rectified:

"Immediate? That’s cap. My lawyer spoke to the President of Complex twice at one a.m and told him about it. Someone on the editorial team finally fixed it around six a.m."

The Twitch streamer ended his response by stating that the apology was too late:

"this apology 5 days late."

What exactly happened for Chrisnxtdoor to call out Complex?

The incident regarding Complex and Chrisnxtdoor stemmed from mistaken identities. It all began at the end of July when allegations were leveled against Kai Cenat's cameraman. Various posts containing screenshots of ChrisV allegedly sending explicit texts to a minor went viral on X. This even led to popular FaZe Clan member YourRage giving his take on the matter, claiming that Kai himself was trying to get in touch with the victim to get to the bottom of the incident.

Within a day, Kai Cenat had formally addressed the situation in an emotional stream on Twitch and cut off ties with ChrisV, condemning his actions. Considering how the story involved influential figures in the industry, many media outlets reported on it.

Complex, in an article on the allegations, erroneously identified the person who was accused of sending the alleged texts as Kai's fellow AMP member Chrisnxtdoor instead of the cameraman ChrisV. Chrisnxtdoor did not take it lightly, going live on his channel and speaking about it.

Kai Cenat also went live the next day and criticized Complex. The Twitch star claimed that the mistake could have been avoided with a bit of research and tore into the media house for allowing the piece to get published. Furthermore, Kai also announced that he will be backing out of any future engagements with Complex.

Complex's apology was posted on their official X page about a day after Kai Cenat's outburst on stream. In the statement, Complex also claimed to have taken action against the writer responsible for the mistake. It remains to be seen whether the apology will be enough for Kai Cenat to retract his statement about not collaborating with Complex in the future.
