In a recent post made on X, 100 Thieves CEO Matthew "Nadeshot" made calls for Jack Doherty to be "demonetized" from all platforms. This post from Nadeshot comes following Doherty's controversial car accident, which took place due to the streamer using his phone while driving a car.
Jack Doherty also came under fire for the behavior he exhibited immediately after the crash, seemingly focusing on his car more than his injured cameraperson. Nadeshot went further and stated that Doherty deserved to be imprisoned for his actions that led up to the crash:
"This guy deserves jail time. Honestly couldn’t believe what I watched when I made it to the end of this video. I’m not a fan of cancel culture but this kid needs to be demonetized from every platform imaginable at bare minimum."
Nadeshot calls out Jack Doherty in a post on X in light of recent McLaren crash controversy
For those unaware, Jack Doherty had been livestreaming himself driving on October 5, 2024, and could be seen peeking into his phone while driving with one hand on the steering wheel. With rain pouring down, the streamer soon lost control of his vehicle on the already slippery road and crashed his McLaren into the roadside guardrails.
The video showed the streamer filming the ordeal even as he was being rescued by bystanders. He could be seen talking about the damages incurred by his car before turning his attention to his cameraperson, who was still in the car and in the process of being removed from the now-totaled vehicle. The cameraperson was visibly injured after the crash, with blood pouring down the side of his head.
Nadeshot's post quoted a post made by Doherty regarding the crash, which had a community note attached underneath it. As per the note, Doherty had previously edited out a portion of his broadcast from his now-deleted original post on the crash that showed him using his phone while driving:
"It is worth mentioning that Jack was looking at his phone while speeding in the rain and livestreaming it. His original tweet about the accident was edited to hide the truth he’s deleted it and now this one also misses important context."
Jack Doherty confirmed in a call with fellow Kick streamer Ac7tionMan that he had been permanently banned from the platform, with some users believing that he had received the punitive action as he "endangered the life of someone".
