American multinational JPMorgan Chase & Co, telecommunication giant AT&T, and Dunkin' Donuts' parent company Dunkin' Brands have reportedly stopped rolling advertisements on Twitch. This move comes following allegations of antisemitism being levied against the purple platform over the past few months.
Further, a fourth firm, Chevron Corp. is also reportedly considering terminating future sponsorships for Twitch's signature TwitchCon conventions after a controversial panel involving Twitch content creator fr0gan took place at this year's event in San Diego, with the Petroleum company's name and logo in the background.
Exploring recent events that led to allegations of antisemitism being levied against Twitch

Twitch is known to provide a platform for commentators. This has given rise to political streamers such as Steven "Destiny" and Hasan "HasanAbi," both strong dissenters of each other.
With HasanAbi's opinions being critical of Israel, many started considering him to be a prominent "anti-semitic" voice on Twitch. This escalated to the point where US politician Ritchie Torres sent a Congressional letter to Twitch to point out the rise of anti-Semitism on the platform.
In the letter, HasanAbi was pointed out as one of the biggest contributors. Furthermore, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy was also held accountable by Torres in the letter.
Reportedly, AT&T and Dunkin’ no longer appear on a Twitch page listing current advertisers. All three companies, including JP Morgan, have denied commenting on the matter. However, a Chevron spokesperson has made the following statement:
“Derogatory comments made by panelists in one session at the TwitchCon event were deeply hurtful and not aligned with our company’s beliefs.”
Twitch has tried to clamp down on moderation surrounding these sensitive topics, such as by banning the use of the word Zionist to demean groups and categorizing it as a potential slur. On the other hand, the previously mentioned incident that took place during a panel at TwitchCon San Diego led to a 30-day ban for streamer Denims, who participated in the panel.
