YouTube streamer and Call of Duty fiend Timothy "TimTheTatman" has made a return to Twitch after three years of not broadcasting on the Amazon-backed platform. The announcement of this shift came through a post on X, where he simply wrote "I'm back btw" and provided a link to his Twitch stream, which was also being multi-streamed on his YouTube channel.
To those unaware, multi-streaming means holding broadcasts on multiple platforms at once, thus catering to the unique audiences one has acquired across different streaming websites. Multi-streaming became a possibility on Twitch after a change in the website's rules regarding its use in October 2023. Prior to that, Twitch streamers were barred from participating in multi-platform broadcasting.
TimTheTatman returns to Twitch streaming while simultaneously broadcasting on YouTube
TimTheTatman is known for being a Call of Duty buff, often covering various titles of the franchise including Black Ops 6, the upcoming addition to the franchise. In fact, he was present at the time of its multiplayer beta launch at the Call of Duty: NEXT event, which took place on August 28, 2024.
The 34-year-old content creator had originally abandoned streaming on Twitch, where he had 6 million followers, in favor of exclusively streaming on YouTube Gaming in 2021. Since then, he has been broadcasting solely on YouTube, gathering a massive subscriber count of 5.44 million.
TimTheTatman is not the only streamer to make a return to Twitch while utilizing multi-streaming. Benjamin "DrLupo" also made a similar announcement via an X post, stating he will begin multi-streaming on both Twitch and YouTube in September 2024.
He stated that change would subsequently be applied to "every stream" of his. This would allow him to reach a greater audience, as he has 1.89 million subscribers on YouTube alongside a whopping 4.5 million followers on Twitch.
