Dr DisRespect seems to have returned to social media for the first time since admitting to sending inappropriate texts to a minor a few weeks ago (as of July 31, 2024). The controversial YouTube streamer made a cryptic post on X with a captionless picture of his on-camera avatar seemingly playing chess while an unseen opponent is playing checkers on the same board.
The backlash Dr DisRespect got from the streaming community after the revelation that he had been permanently banned from Twitch because he had sent messages to an underage person was immense. As such, it's not surprising that the post has gone viral with many netizens calling him out while others welcomed him back.
Many X users started taking a dig at the Doc by quoting lines from Kendrick Lamar's Drake-diss track Not Like Us, famous for its subject dealing with pedophilia:
"Trying to strike a chord," quoted X user @Alyssa_merc.
"The kid playing checkers," wrote Twitch streamer @ItsZoil.
"Is this you playing with a minor," bluntly asked @WashYourCrack.
It seems the X user @WashYourCrack's question and the Kendrick Lamar quotes did strike a chord with Dr DisRespect, who replied by saying:
"Good one she/her. The internet will never fix your real threat… depression," replied the streamer.
"Little brainwashed woke boy putting out dragon ball z gfx with Kendrick Lamar lines… Got me big time," stated Dr DisRespect in response to a meme quoting Not Like Us.
On the other hand, some fans seem to be quite welcoming of Dr DisRespect.
"Bring da doc back. He apologized like a man. Thats all I need. Carry on," claimed @BWay124.
"You can't stop the two time baby! He's over here playing 4D chess," wrote @ReelJustinLewis.
Controversial Dr DisRespect as YouTube streamer seemingly ends his break from social media after Twitch ban controversy
Soon after his own video gaming company Midnight Society cut ties with the streamer following the allegation that he had sent inappropriate messages to a minor, Dr DisRespect openly talked about taking a break from the streaming world.
The whole incident was dubbed the Twitch ban controversy as former employees of the Amazon-owned company leaked information, claiming the platform had banned him after reviewing the messages he sent to a minor.
At the time, the YouTube streamer had also mentioned how he needed to take time off from social media, with his last X post on the topic dating back to June 25. After more than a month of waiting, the Doc has finally posted on X again, garnering more than a million views within an hour of uploading a captionless picture of him playing chess.
While the post has naturally gotten a lot of negative reactions, Dr DisRespect's supporters seem to have welcomed him back. It is unclear whether he will go back to his normal streaming schedule. It seems that there is certainly much interest from a portion of the internet who want him to continue making content despite his admitting to sending inappropriate messages to a minor.
Readers should note that back in June 2024, even his close friends Nickmercs and TimTheTatman publicly distanced themselves from Dr DisRespect. It remains to be seen if he will make a comeback to content creation any time soon.
