Twitch streamer Frogan, aka Morgan, has been banned by the platform a day after a clip of her talking about US soldiers getting PTSD went viral on social media. The news was first reported by the StreamerBans bot on X. Considering the backlash stemming from her comments, many have welcomed the platform's decision, although Morgan herself has revealed that it was not the reason for the ban.

As per StreamerBans, this is the first time Frogan has been banned from Twitch. In a post on X that the streamer shared minutes after the ban was imposed, Frogan claimed that the reason for the suspension was Targeted Hateful Conduct for a tier list that caused controversy because it had a tier titled 'LOVES SABRA.' Sabra is a brand of hummus but also a term used for "native-born Israeli" according to Merriam-Webster.

What is the Sabra tier list controversy? The supposed reason for Frogan's Twitch ban explored

H3 podcast host Ethan Klein, a major voice in the streaming community, has called out Twitch and accused the Amazon-owned platform of anti-Semitism. In a recent episode of the podcast, he even claimed that the CEO Dan Clancy hates Jewish people.

In a video on his YouTube channel titled Twitch has a Major Problem, Ethan Klein pointed out a panel from Twitchcon 2024 in which Frogan and some other streamers of Arab descent had made a tier list with the lowest tier being 'LOVES SABRA.'

In his video, Ethan states:

"Sabra is a very popular hummus brand. I know in Israel, it's pretty much in everybody's refrigerator. They are an American company, but they have been the subject of the pro-Palestine boycott. I mean it (the tier list) kind of is like Arab good, Jew bad."

Readers should note that Sabra is on the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement) list of products. As per Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East's website, the Strauss group, who own Sabra, is on the list because of its contributions to the IDF.

Regardless, since Ethan Klein's criticism, the tier list has gone viral on social media, with content creators associated with the TwitchCon event garnering a lot of backlash. Frogan has defended the tier list and claimed Ethan was lying to fit a narrative.

In a post on X, Frogan explained that the context of the tier list was assessing which Twitch streamers have the "Habibi pass" and that it had nothing to do with people's religion and was just a meme.

In a subsequent post, the now-banned Twitch streamer noted that people associated with the TwitchCon tier list were from different religions and claimed that Sabra is "objectively the worst hummus" and was not a comment on Israel.

"the whole basis of my podcast ayyrabs with capri and raff is that we are all arabs from different religious backgrounds - i am muslim, capri is christian, and raff is jewish. sabra hummus is objectively the worst hummus to exist and is the unfortunate standard of hummus in the us," wrote @Fr0gan.

As mentioned by Frogan, Twitch has banned her channel for a month and fans will have to wait 30 days to see her go live again.
