Twitch streamer Nmplol reveals his girlfriend Malena is taking an indefinite break from streaming

Twitch streamer Nick "Nmplol" has announced that his girlfriend and long-time streaming partner Malena Tudi is taking an indefinite break from appearing on his channel. As one of the more popular streaming couples, the news has garnered a lot of attention on social media after Nmplol talked about it in his most recent Twitch stream.

The streamer pulled up a post from his subreddit r/Nmpx with a screenshot of a Discord chat sent by himself to inform the community which reads:

"Malena is retiring from streaming everyone, and won't be returning."

Reacting to the post, the Twitch streamer added that the "retirement" does not mean that Malena will not be helping him make content at all. It means that she will refrain from appearing on his broadcasts:

"But yeah, Malena has definitely taken an indefinite break from coming on the stream. But she will still be helping behind the scenes, she says she still wants to plan stuff. So all those big events, like Wild West that we saw, all that stuff should still be there."

Reading a comment from a viewer, Nmplol went on to state:

"'Good for her sad for us.' For sure, actually, actually."

Why is Malena taking time off from Twitch? Nmplol's girlfriend will not appear on the stream

Discussion surrounding Malena's alleged retirement has been going on for quite a few months now. She did not appear in a lot of Nmplol's streams for quite some time last year, and earlier in 2024, he had specifically stated that Malena might be retiring from streaming and that things would get tough this year.

The couple usually stream together on Nmplol's channel on Twitch, with both him and Malena appearing in IRL content, chat shows, and their popular cooking streams featuring other guests. However, on his July 10 stream, Nmplol confirmed that she will be taking a break from his channel but will still be associated with the content creation process behind the scenes.

A discord message was sent to their server from Malena where she revealed why she is taking a break. The Norwegian national cited her mother's health issues as one of the reasons for taking a hiatus from Nmplol's streams:

"I just need privacy and calm right now considering my mom, health. We have some big days ahead of us in that aspect and I want to be there for her as I have been gone for way too long. Nick is here as well and being supportive."

Malena also noted that she started to stream to help Nmplol and does not want to let her anxiety ruin upcoming broadcasts:

"I only started streaming to help Nick achieve his goals, editing too for Chance (indirectly helping Nick as well) The money is always a plus side but I've always just wanted to see Nick happy. Believe it or not, I'm not a very social person and most of the time my anxiety can come off as anger/frustration/don't wanna be here vibe."

Diving further into her anxieties, Malena said,

"The only thing I regret when it comes to being a public person is emotional intelligence and learning how to express myself correctly instead of frustration. I never wanted it to seem like I kill the vibes or dont wanna be there, frankly I wanted it to be the best it can be."

She concluded the announcement by thanking the community and fans for being so pleasant and noted that she will continue helping the streams from behind the scenes:

"My emotions gave a lot of unwanted attention but it also helped with publicity I guess. I will always be grateful for you guys though. We unironically have the best community of boomers on twitch and the people who recur here are usually very pleasant. I will still help Nick bts continue his goals. I gave both my parents a copy of the fan art you made (pappypetes book) and I will cherish it forever. My mom has showed it to her friends and she is incredibly proud of our success."

Nmplol is currently streaming from Europe to help out on-site with Malena's mother. It is unclear when he will return to his normal Twitch schedule.
