On October 2, 2024, Twitch streamer ToastyOG took to X to accuse Jimmy "MrBeast" and Kai Cenat of failing to pay the $10,000 he won in a giveaway. ToastyOG reposted a 10-second video of MrBeast and Cenat's special livestream on July 4, 2024, during which he won the money.
Here's what MrBeast and Kai Cenat were heard saying in the video:
"That person that said Feastables... (Kai Cenat responds, 'Toasty.') Oh wait, that's Toasty again? All right, Toasty, you already won 10 grand. It cancels out."
In the social media update, ToastyOG claimed "he was reached out to" following the Fourth of July livestream and was "put on the list." However, according to him, the internet stars "stopped all communication" a few weeks ago:
"I don't know if you guys remember this from July, but MrBeast and Kai Cenat were giving away 250k to 25 people. I was reached out to after the stream to be put on the 'list,' but they have stopped all communication about 6 weeks ago. Please (heart emoji) and (recycle emoji)."
Earlier today (October 3, 2024), Daniel "Keemstar's" Drama Alert posted about the situation.
In response, ToastyOG claimed that a "manager" contacted him to make things "right." Stating that he would update the community "when the payment hits," he posted:
"His manager reached out to me to make this right. Very nice guy. I'll update you guys when the payment hits."
When Kai Cenat's impromptu giveaway sparked a riot in New York
This is not the first time Kai Cenat's giveaway has caused controversy. In August 2023, the two-time Streamer of the Year award winner hosted an impromptu meet-and-greet and giveaway for his community in Union Square Park, New York. Things, however, did not go as planned, as hundreds of people flocked to the location, resulting in a riot.
Nine months later, on May 8, 2024, the Manhattan District Attorney's office announced that they would not prosecute the AMP-affiliated personality for inciting the riot.
Cenat also addressed the community on the same day via a Snapchat post, apologizing for "unintentionally" causing a dangerous and unsafe situation:
"The result was an unsafe situation for the people who live and work in the neighborhood, first responders, and my followers that attended the event. I apologize for the disruption and damage to the community, the part, the vehicles, and the storefronts in the area."
In other news, Kai Cenat has announced his return to Twitch livestreaming following his LBA (Little Ballers Association) championship win.
