On August 29, 2024, Twitch star Imane "Pokimane" took to X to open up about her relationship with social media. In the post, the Moroccan-Canadian personality stated that she missed posting content regularly and "feeling more connected" to her community. The 28-year-old then claimed that her relationship with social media was "complicated" and that she frequently felt the "need to step back."

The content creator's post has garnered significant traction, eliciting responses from hundreds of netizens. Popular IRL Twitch streamer Jake "JakenBakeLIVE" concurred with her sentiments, claiming that X is "definitely the worst" social media platform.
"I feel you, but Twitter is definitely the worst of them all nowadays," responded JakenBakeLIVE.
Twitch streamer Rhymestyle also shared his thoughts on being away from social media.

While telling her fanbase to take care of themselves, the Twitch streamer announced a hiatus from the internet and "especially" from the Elon Musk-owned social media platform:
